Desk top icons will not show up

hello. can anyone help? my desktop icons will not show up, and i am not able to download spybot. i have tried removing malware, but i am not sure what the problem is. i have windows xp, and the start up bar does not even show up. i log on, and the computer shows up with just the wall paper and the icons do not show. i can only get back on line with the alt+cont+delete function. any help is much appreciated.

Let's see if you're able to provide me some logs.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

• When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  1. DDS.txt
  2. Attach.txt
• Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
