Slow startup + "regedit is not a valid application" in RUN

Hello,
I have tested my system for virus' with AVG and get no alerts on virus'. I have also scanned with Registry Mechanic and cleaned up errors, and the problem is still there. This problem happened after my system suddenly blue screened last week.
I have not installed any new software for over a month. Hope you can help.
