    Question Babaloyn Toolbar

i ran Spybot Search&Destroy last night...it brought up Babylon Toolbar saying it was an issue. I tried to use the program to clean it.

it was not able to so i ran on start-up...still no luck

Babylon Toolbar is not listed anywhere on my hard-drive...its not in programs...i did a hard-drive search first for Babylon then for just BAB...both time it said there was nothing in my hard-drive with those letters

its not listed in start-menu, programs, nor the removal for programs & features in Vista Home Basic Service Pack 2...its also not listed as a Firefox add-on

    any suggestions? thank you

    Could you please do this?
    • Open SpyBot.
    • Check for problems.
    • When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
    • Paste (Ctrl+V) those results here.

Please go here and download the file:
    http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=51
Unzip it to the main application folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\) and replace the old file with the new one.

The number in curly brackets shows that it most likely is babylon:
    http://www.systemlookup.com/CLSID/71...rTlbr_dll.html
It's listed as open for debate.

Since you can't find any more of Babylon anywhere on your computer, perhaps the registry key Spybot found was a leftover of a past install.

You could try a scan in safe mode and see if it's removed then:
Reboot your computer into SafeMode by doing the following:

    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, begin tapping F8.
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Open Spybot-S&D while still in safe mode.

    • Rightclick Spybot and select Run as administrator.
    • Close all browsers, check for problems and fix everything found in red
    • Close Spybot-S&D
    • Reboot back into Windows
