Total uninstall

I am going to try and totaly remove S&D and do a clean install. I read this http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/27.html

but I have a question about the "small fix" that is recommended. How do you execute it? I click the link but what than? It' looks like a registry file I have some concerns about this on a new computer.

It is a registry file.I understand your concerns with using .reg files,it's good to be cautious.This one I've used many times,never any problems.Of course,it's up to you,but it might be a good idea to use it in your situation(I'm still not certain what's up with your copy of Spybot,but something sure doesn't sound right.).If you decide to use it:
If you're using Internet Explorer,you can rightclick the very small fix,select Save Target As.Save it to somewhere convienent,like your desktop.Then,just doubleclick it,and say yes to the prompt to merge it to your registry.


After you reinstall Spybot,make sure you check for updates.
