Dear Forum members
I have a problem with the pop ups:
1. amaena.com - Security Update - Microsoft Internet Explorer
2. fp.gad-network.com - Crazy girls - Microsoft Internet Explorer and I got a shortcut on my desktop named Crazy girls
3.wxx.epass-key.com - Lastsoftwares
4.fr.winantispyware.com - WinAntiSpyware - Microsoft Internet Explorer
I installed some antispy software and removed every thing but these just keep popping up. I tried the advice at many forums but nothing worked with these.
Can you plz help me remove it!
Here is a list of the softwares that I tried:
HijackThis
Spybot
AdAware PE
Avg Anti-Spyware
Windows OneCare Setup
I will appreciate your help and input.
Here is the HJT report in case it is needed. I'm ready to provide any other logs as needed:

Hi sovirulent
Download F-Secure Blacklight and save it to your desktop -> https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Doubleclick blbeta.exe, accept the agreement, click Scan, then click Next
You'll see a list what have been found. A log will appear to your desktop, it is named fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (xxxxxxx will be random numbers).
DON'T choose Rename if something was found!
Post the contents of fsbl.xxxx.log to here (xxxx= random numbers, blacklight log from your desktop)

Hi Shaba,
Thanks for your reply and for trying to help me. I have been working on those issues for so many days. Let's hope that we will see the end of it. I am not an expert at all with computer and my english is ok but not good, so when you asked me to do something please be very detailed.
By the time I was writting this post I got another popup named - traffic waypoint crash and when I closed it an icon named NoCreditCard appeared on my desktop. That sort of icon from other popups often appear on my desktop. Just to let you know.

Hi
Yes, I think we found the pest :)
Use this (http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis_sfx.exe) link to get HijackThis.
Save it to your desktop and then double-click to run it.
It will install the program in c:\program files\HijackThis.
Use this HijackThis from now on.
Doubleclick blbeta.exe, accept the agreement, click Scan, then click Next
You'll see a list what have been found
Checkmark them one at a time (Rename-button should then be available, it's not available if you choose them all at the same time) and press rename (you'll need to do this four times in total).
Reboot
Re-scan with blacklight
Send:
- a fresh HijackThis log
- blacklight report

After renaming each of them...I reboot right away or click next?
Click next and when ready, reboot :)

Shaba,
After the reboot one icon desappeared NoCreditCard but the other one called SERIALPLAYERS is still on my desktop. When I click "start" "all program" I can see in the windows program those annoying icon: Crazy girls - Fun-Games- Serialplayers- NoCreditCard. Just to let yo know. Don't know if it matters at this point.

Shaba are you still there? It's been a little while since I sent you my last post as you asked me to do.
Hi
Yes, I am :) We have different timezones, I guess.
First of all, move HijackThis to own folder or there will be no backups if needed. I've asked to do this already once.
After that:
Open HijackThis, click do a system scan only and checkmark these:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {AA59202C-5E41-48FC-AF7D-324F5FD6A9F1} - http://scripts.dlv4.com/binaries/ega...1070_em_XP.cab
Close all windows including browser and press fix checked.
Delete if present:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\prodsrvs.exe
Empty Recycle Bin
Reboot
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:
1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:
http://img.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/hijackthis/uninstall-man.gif
5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.
Send:
- a fresh HijackThis log
- uninstall list

Hi
There's at least 7 hrs timezone difference; it was 6pm local time when you posted :)
Uninstall via add/remove programs:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_06
HijackThis is still in temp folder :(
Follow these insructions exactly
Use this (http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis_sfx.exe) link to get HijackThis.
Save it to your desktop and then double-click to run it.
It will install the program in c:\program files\HijackThis.
Use this HijackThis from now on.
Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner (http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/kws/kavwebscan.html). You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
+ Extended (If available otherwise Standard)
o Scan Options:
+ Scan Archives
+ Scan Mail Bases
Click OK
Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
Now click on the Save as Text button
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Send:
- a fresh HijackThis log
- kaspersky report

I am a bit confused regarding Hijackthis...you're telling me it is still in temp folder....First I checked in my temp folder and nothing in there.... Hijackthis_sfx is on my desktop since the beginning when you first told me to install it. Here is the path where hijackthis is C:\Program Files\HijackThis
I am doing exactly what you asked me to do "Use this link to get HijackThis.
Save it to your desktop and then double-click to run it.
It will install the program in c:\program files\HijackThis.
"
So here is what is going on...I used the link and get Hijackthis... a popup window asks "do you want to run or save this file? I clicked "save" then I can save in "Desktop" as hijackthis_sfx and click the save button the a popup window asks" c:\Documents and settings\myname\Desktop\hijackthis_sfx.exe already exists. Doyou want to replace it? I said "Yes"
Is it ok?.....if not tell me what to do or how to see it in the temp folder....maybe i missed something here....
Hi
Because of this:
Running processes:
C:\DOCUME~1\COLETT~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\HijackThis.exe

I am trying to check with hijackthis but a windows appeared telling me: Zip file is damaged, truncated, or has been changed since it was created. If you downloaded this file, try downloading again.
Do I click "ok" I guess this is coming from the last manipulation ....when I was asking to replace it.....and click yes.....
What do I do now?
Hi
Try this:
Please download HijackThis (http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip) to your desktop. (rightclick on this link and choose save as, if using IE save target as)
Right click the HijackThis folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
Click "Next"
In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
Click "Browse"
Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
Click on "Local Disk (C: ) or whatever your primary drive is
Click "Make New Folder"
Type in HijackThis
Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
HijackThis should be now on C:\HijackThis folder :)

Should I checked it and press "fix checked"?
I'll be waiting for an answer and then proceed with Kaspersky Scanner...
Many thanks....
Hi
No, I don't checkmark anything, just wait for kaspersky scan results :)

Not lucky....the kaspersky launched and started to download but after a while I got this message:
Failed to load Kaspersky Online Scanner ActiveX control!
You must have administrative rights on this computer;
you also must have the IE security settings to the Medium level.
Exit
Hi
Let's try this then:
Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.
Please download MWav (http://www.spywareinfo.dk/download/mwav.exe):
Unzip it to its predetermined directory (C:\Kaspersky)
Locate kavupd.exe in the new folder and double-click to Update.
If your firewall gives any messages about this program accessing to internet, allow it.
If it says the signatures are more than 30 days old, keep trying, until you get the actual definition updates.
When you see Updates Downloaded Successfully, hit Enter to continue.
Restart onto Safe Mode (http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml) and locate the Kaspersky folder.
Locate mwavscan.com and double-click on it to launch the MWAV Scanner. Now lets do the settings:
Leave the Default Settings checked.
Add a check to Drives
This will light up All Drives
Add a check to Scan all Files
Click Scan Clean to begin.
This scan might take around 3+ hours to finish when set to scan everything.
Please be sure it has finished before proceeding.
Once the Scan has finished, all entries identified as Infected, will be displayed in the lower panel.
Highlight everything that is inside the lower panel and hit Ctrl+C at the same time to copy.
Open an empty notepad file and paste the results (Ctrl+V) to it. Save the notepad to your desktop, name it as you want (e.g; MWav Results).Reboot into normal Windows and post the results here along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Shaba ...sorry....but right down the failed message there was a box asking me to install ActiveX control...I clicked on it and now it seems to work.....got confused because of the blocked popup just under the internet menu bar.....right now it is downloading and installing the latest Kaspersky Anti-Virus Databases ...and I am scanning as I am writting down this post...I'll let it scan and come back with the results.
Let's keep going;)

Hi
That looks good :)
Are you able to delete that Serialplay icon from desktop?

Hi....
Serialplay from my desktop removed....gone...:bigthumb:
So now? Are we done? if not what to do next? if so how can I make sure my computer stay clean and how to make it more safe?
I am very very very happy so far.....my computer runs faster and I don't have those popups anymore.....hope it stays that way.....
Hi
Then I guess you're clean :bigthumb:
Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
Go here (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) and download and install JRE 6.0. Click the link that says Download JRE 6.0 . You will then need to select Accept License Agreement and click the Continue button that is beside it. Then click the link that says Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language. Save it to your Desktop. Then go back to your Desktop and double click jre-6-windows-i586.exe to start the install. Once you have it installed, click Start>Run, type in appwiz.cpl and hit Enter. From the list, uninstall J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4.
I see no firewall on your log. If you use Windows own firewall, I recommend to get a better free one. See "Understanding and Using Firewall" below for more info
Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows XP then you should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.
You can find instructions on how to enable and reenable system restore here:
Windows XP System Restore Guide (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html)
Reenable system restore with instructions from tutorial above
Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
Click once on the Security tab
Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
Click once on the Custom Level button.
Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.
See this link for a listing of some online & their stand-alone antivirus programs:
Virus, Spyware, and Malware Protection and Removal Resources (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic405.html)
Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:
Understanding and Using Firewalls (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial60.html)
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com (http://www.windowsupdate.com) regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. ou should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/?showtutorial=48)
Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option.
This will provide real-time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software. A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Instructions for - Spybot S & D and Ad-aware (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/?showtutorial=43)
Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial49.html)
Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
Here are some additional utilities that will enhance your safety
IE/Spyad (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/resource.htm) <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
MVPS Hosts file (http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
Winpatrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/) <= Download and install the free version of Winpatrol. a tutorial for this product is located here:
Using Winpatrol to protect your computer from malicious software (http://www.winpatrol.com/features.html)
Stand Up and Be Counted ---> Malware Complaints (http://www.malwarecomplaints.info/index.php) <--- where you can make difference!
The site offers people who have been (or are) victims of malware the opportunity to document their story and, in that way, launch a complaint against the malware and the makers of the malware.
