I had posted a log however I think I was supposed to put the copy of the online scan in?! Following is the online scan results - there didn't seem to be a log as such from HouseCall (?) and the hijack this log. Thanks for any help I can get!

Welcome to the forum, if you still need help and are not receiving it elsewhere, let's start like this:
1) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Uninstall one, update the one you keep and run a complete system scan, post for me any item that can't be removed, the complete name and pathway.

Uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.
3) You mention: Anti-Vermins and Pest Capture. I can't see the infection so to find out what is there, do this:
Please download SmitfraudFix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip) (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Thanks for returning Smitfraud Fix "Search" report, but it is not showing us any of the infection associated with Anti-Vermins and Pest Capture?
Please read the instructions carefully, I need a new HJT log with that information.
Restart the computer and post the results of the Smitfraudfix "Search", a new HJT log and any information I requested above. Please also add any comments you think will help.
Please follow these directions:
1) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
2) Follow the instructions in this link, make sure you delete or at least quarantine anything found and save the scan report, I need to see it.

We were getting the "system alert... etc" on screen which then opened to AntiVermins - we were silly enough to purchase the Pest Capture program. I have uninstalled this and followed the instructions I found on this forum with spybot and hijackthis, and smithfraudfix. It said in the forum to post the hijackthis log to make sure this had happened.

OK and thanks for the feedback, I still have to say the last Smitfraudfix log shows no infections. That is what this junk is all about, FRAUD. You send your money and get nothing for it.
If you ran the Smitfraudfix before, then it appears it removed the junk. I have asked twice for a HijackThis log. Would you please post one so I can see if you have followed the directions I have posted for you so far.
Uninstall list, this is what I see:

If you have this installed twice, uninstall one copy, having two can only cause problems.

Hi Again,
I have removed the Java Run program and the View Point Media, however I have tried to uninstall the 2nd Hijack This program but it doesn't seem to work. I have tried uninstalling both, then restarting my computer and then reinstalling from the website this has still created two programs in the add/remove programs. It is not a good idea to have two copies installed.
Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > From the configuration window you have to scroll all the way down to see Uninstall HijackThis & exit.

I prefer HJT to run from C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe Open the C:\ and right click the mouse on a blank spot. Then choose New & Folder. Name the Folder HJT. Now download from here:

Choose to "SAVE" that file in the C:\HJT\ folder.
AVG Anti-Spyware - Scan Report

This looks like it has something to do with your ISP and I can't find any information about it:

my scanner says it is questionable. If you don't know what it is, ask your ISP.
AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

You have a lot of stuff running you may not need at every startup, look at this information: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
McAfee sure has taken over your computer and I will bet all of that new junk is slowing you. I run McAfee and refused to download their new software. I am considering dumping then at the end of this subscription. They are getting as bad as Norton. As far as I can see you are free of malware.

I want you to know I was not telling your to remove McAfee, especially if you were paying for it. I will also bet the computer is running faster with it gone and AVG in it's place. A couple of things:
1) This one I forgot to ask about:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ALERTM~1\ALERTM~1.EXE would you take a look at the properties and make sure it is something you know.
2) I see AVG Anti-Spyware still running, make sure once the trial is over unless you decide to purchase it, you stop it from running. Disable in Services and turn it off. You can update and use the scanner on call for as long as you like free.
3) Unless I am missing something, I see no other anti-spyware program in your HJT log. Once the trial is over, I would suggest you try this free one:

No problems re McAfee, I did understand that but it was actually a really annoying program with so many popups and downloads, etc so yes happy to be free of it - and as it came free with the computer we weren't too worried.

When I search for this - I can't find it in that location - I did a search of the C drive and found this file -

Not sure what the go is there and I have no idea what that file is.

However the IE-Spyad didn't want to load for some reason so I decided I'd probably be safe with the other two. Sitehound I can see in the log but Spyware Blaster doesn't seem to be showing up?! Bit strange but it is definitely in my list of programs.

It is a good thing to clean the Prefetch once in a while as you will have read. So, if you have not, follow the instructions and purge everything in it. Windows will put back what it needs, and if it puts back the file in question, it needs it. Remember, you might have a few slow boots as Windows repopulates Prefetch.

Spyware Blaster doesn't seem to be showing up?!
Should be in Start > All Programs, it is on my computers. You can also navigate to the folder Desktop for Spyware Blaster. It needs no real attention except an occaisional update that you will need to do manually if you wish to keep it freeware.
