my file can't be pasted because it's too long (83684 characters). I will try and add additional description of problem to notepad file and attach it.

Thanks,
Sean

Please help,

HELP>>BROWSER HIJACKED..COMPUTER CRASHING EVERY 5 MINUTES AFTER REBOOT

I believe my browser has been hijacked, but not absolutely sure. I normally use firefox, but since this virus hit, I cannot run internet explorer (files are missing), or my printer . I first noticed being attacked when I tried generating a key for my expired evaluation copy of jasco paint shop pro studio. I've attached the HJT log file, but I am unable to do any online virus scans--because (a) most seem to require a working copy of IExplorer (which I don't have any longer), and (b) my computer crashes (blue screen) typically after 5 minutes. I can only keep the computer from crashing when I'm in SAFE mode. I've tried re-installing IExplorer in both normal and
SAFE modes, but half way through I get the blue screen. I am going to attach screen dumps of the different error messages that I'm receiving--hopefully this can help you help me!! Oh, and when I run spybot in SAFE mode it flags COOLWWWSEARCH.WCADW, I fix it, re-scan and it's gone in SAFE MODE, but it always returns when I reboot in normal mode. I also have aol, and their spyzapper program repeatedly flags me for “SpySheriff” and “Trojan.Win32.StartPage.afs”.

Also, upon restarting the computer in normal mode (after the safe restart and running spybot), I get the Microsoft Windows message: “The system has recovered from a serious error”, and that a log file has been created. Upon sending this to them, the response back is that windows stopped as a result of the device driver that is installed on my computer—they call it a “stop error” and recommend either installing the current driver or decreasing the hardware acceleration for the video adapter. Sometimes this response from Microsoft is accompanied by the Technical Information:

Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078).

Before I making any changes, I’d like your recommendation as to how I might proceed.

I'm sure I've left out something but I'll be checking to see if you respond (assuming I can log on and paste this entire document before the dreaded blue screen!!)

Thanks in advance,

Sean

Note: I can't attach all the screen dumps do to size limitations of the forum attachments.

I have also run the online check for both bit defender (6.5 hours, and then froze up before allowing to save log file), and trend micro's housesitter (3.5 hours, which I could not find the option to save any log file). If you are aware of a file name these would have been saved to my computer, let me know and I can send that off to you.

Thank you, Sean

Please download and run CWShredder here (http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/online-tools/cwshredder.exe)
Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine.
Detailed instructions from here (http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=23)

Download and run - ATF Cleaner instructions here. (http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=1925)

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido). Then scan and post the report here.
