I've got a machine with the Windows 2000 Server OS on it. My users access it via a network share. Nobody (besides me) actually signs into the machine. For the past 3 weeks I've been getting pretty heavy and regular virus warnings and spyware infections.
I clean the machine regularly with both Norton AV and Spybot S&D, but the viruses and spyware are on this machine DAILY!
This is my HijackThis Log:

I forgot to mention that these logs were generated after a full system scan with NAV and also a full scan with Spybot S&D while in safe mode.
Thanks,
Woody
Hello and sorry for the wait.
If you have not resolved the problem, we do have this sticky topic:
If you have waited four days for advice post here. (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=4836#post4836)
Hi woodywoodtucker
One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.
This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files
I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.
Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:
How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451)
When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063)
We can attempt to clean this machine but i can't guarantee that it will be 100% secure afterwards.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Please let us know what you have decided to do in your next post

If possible I would like to attempt to clean the system before re-formatting and re-loading the data. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
For the time being, I am going to disconnect this PC from the network and load my applications on a Windows 2003 Server. Thanks for the updates, and I look forward to hearing from you again.
Thanks,
Woody
Hi
Download SDFix (http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe) and save it to your Desktop.
Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)
Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Hi
Looking better
1. Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/combofix.exe)
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.
Send:
- a fresh HijackThis log
- combofix report
- vundofix report

The BlackLight Log came out at about 48MB. Would you prefer I zip and upload that?
Hi
If Blacklight log is 48 Mb, you have so serious rootkit infections that continuing this cleaning process is just waste of time for both of us.
I recommend to format & re-install; there's absolutely no point to continue.

I understand. I appreciate your time and expertise in trying to help me with this, though. Thanks so much!
Hi
You're welcome and I'm sorry that you had so severe infections that cleaning process got aborted :)
