Hello JGORDON367,

Welcome to Safer Networking Forums :)

We need to move HijackThis! to it's own permanent folder to ensure that we don't lose its backups. To make a permanent folder, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
Click Local Disk C:.
File | New | Folder
A new folder called New Folder will be created.
Rename New Folder to HJT or HijackThis. Now move HijackThis! into the new folder you just created.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/xpcompressedexplanation.html

Your log shows that you have disabled some startup programs using MSConfig.
This is not recommended because I cannot clearly see everything that is loading on your computer at startup.
To enable all startup items quickly please follow these instructions:

Start | Run | type msconfig | OK
If not already selected go to the General tab.
Under Startup Selection select "Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services".
Click Apply and then Close.
When given the option, please choose to restart the computer.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/combofix.exe)
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Thanks,
tea

the other program has been running for over 30 minutes and hasnt done anything. I am not sure if its takes longer or if its not going to work.

yesterday the computer quit working, the hard drive has been filled up. I cleared a TON of space and it still keeps filling up faster than I can delete stuff. Also I was able to get NAV working by installing new definitions but they keep becoming corrupted and it quits.

Yikes...no, it shouldn't take near that long to run. Close it if you haven't already.

What is your computer filling up with? Temp files?

Use Cleanmgr to clean temporary files:

1. Click > start > run and type cleanmgr and click OK
2. Scan your system for files to remove.
3. Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
4. Click OK to remove those files.
5. Click Yes to confirm deletion.

Tell me how much space that frees up.

* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/move.gif
This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously, along with a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found.
Don't choose rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there...
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)
Post the contents of the log in your next reply.

Download Silent Runners.zip (http://tinyurl.com/8bmsr) and extract it to a new folder on your Desktop. Run the Silent Runners.vbs file. You will receive a prompt: "Do you want to skip supplementary searches?" - click "NO." If your antivirus has a script blocker, you will get a warning asking if you want to allow Silent Runners.vbs to run. This script is not malicious so please allow it. A text file will appear in the folder - it's not done, let it run. (It won't appear to be doing anything!) Once the "All Done!" prompt flashes up, open the text file, and copy & paste it in your next reply.

Thanks,
tea

I had already used the clean up manager to try and free files. There was nothing else left when I ran it again. I tried to run Dr.Web CureIt and it says its not a valid win32 application. Some othe weird stuff is that my clock is now set to military time and it wont let me change it. I cant get on the internet because it says my connection is too slow. I am not sure what else I can do now.

What about the other 2 programs? I can't tell you what to delete if I can't see it. :( Sounds like things are going downhill in a hurry.

Hello,

Have you gone into the control panel, clicked on regional options and then the time tab and changed the time format to h:mm:ss tt or hh:mm:ss if you don't want AM or PM to be displayed? Also, there is an entry for Seiko in both the Silent Runners log, and HijackThis. Have you recently installed anything from them?

I did change the time but it appears to change it back. Also I am not sure what Sieko is, I have not installed anythign from them but I caught my husband looking at adult sites. So I have a feeling that is the root of this problem.

I moved my documents folder onto a network drive and freed up 1 gb of space and now my computer only has 300kb left. I need to find out where all these new files are being written too or else I have no space left.

Okay, I'll wait here for your response....time and room are critical for you.

Run HijackThis and check this :

F3 - REG:win.ini: load=,slpmonx.exe

click fix checked, then delete the file slpmonx.exe

Reboot your computer

Show me an uninstall list, please :

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post, and a new HijackThis log, please.

Hello,

I'd like for you to boot into safe mode to see if this things stops while there. A lot of things don't run at startup, so maybe we can stop this. So boot into Safe Mode and let me know if it stops.

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.

Thanks for all your help. I did a serach for recently altered files and found in the C/programfiles/navNT folder has 15,000 files that had been placed in the last week I deleted them and cleared 6gb of my drive. Its is constantly replacing the files so I have to keep deleting them. Its allowing me some time to save some of my files and I am going to format my drive and start fresh. I might as well since I cant find the source and I have already uninstalled all my programs.

this is a sample of the files in the folder, they all show up as being created on older dates and they were hidden.

TMKZ2C4C.VXDNAVENG.VXD
TMKZ2C40.zippalmdefs2.zip
TMKZ2C38.SIGERASER.SIG

All the files have different extensions and a series of numbers and letter in the first section is in consecutive order. It also writes a text file and it has NAV info that is old and the text files are all identical.

I guess it coudl be a NAV problem but better safe than sorry.
