C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha.dll
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB901017$\gece.exe

I would like to see a copy of the files in bold.

Click start / then my computer / local disk then follow the process tree.
Or using Windows Explorer, locate the first file you want to zip.
Right click on the file and select Send To and Compressed (zipped) Folder.
This makes a copy it does not delete it.
Please zip the file and upload it here (http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=270)
Or email it here (little_eagle@security-central.us)

I followed the process tree for the first one, and there are 4 .dll files.

quha32.dll
quha222.dll
quha972.dll
quha.dll

Do you want them all or just the last one?

I also couldn't find the folder for the second one you listed.

Enter the Windows Control Panel and double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
When the installed programs list appears, double-click on the entry for DriveCleaner if it exists and allow the uninstall program to finish. Then exit the Add/Remove Programs screen and the Control Panel.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following,

O2 - BHO: 0 - {5278E4C7-A9B6-43BA-80BB-2C210B8E9B7D} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha.dll
O16 - DPF: {2D2BEE6E-3C9A-4D58-B9EC-458EDB28D0F6} - http://drivecleaner.com/.freeware/in...eanerstart.cab

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Download Pocket Killbox (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php) and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha32.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha222.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha972.dll

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.

Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I used Killbox and deleted the files, then rebooted and did the Hijackthis. There was no "O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mijili] C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB893357$\mijili.exe" but there was a new "$NtUninstallKB893357$" with a different .exe. Reran HiJackThis and here is the new log.

Lets try running combofix.exe
Download it from one of the links below:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/combofix.exe
http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/combofix.exe

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Delete the other copy of avenger.

Download The Avenger (http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip) Copyright © Swandog46
You must extract avenger.exe to your desktop, before you run it.
The Avenger must be run from a user account with administrator privileges,
and ONLY works on Windows 2000 and XP, and only on 32-bit versions!

Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard.

Files to delete:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha691.dll
C:\Program Files\Common Files\quha.dll

The above script is for this user only, if you need help please start your own thread.

Start the Avenger.
Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
Click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script".
Paste the entire text in into this window.
Click done, now click on the Green Light
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
Your computer shoud reboot, and briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.

After the restart, it will create a log file that should open.
This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
Paste the contents of the file into your reply along with a fresh HJT log.

Also: Avenger has made backups of all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, located at C:\avenger\backup.zip.

Ok, I have to admit here, Im a dummy. I didnt copy the entire damn box you told me to the first 3 times. I only coppied the C:/ parts. I never put in the entire thing. So sorry.

Everything seemed to work, when it rebooted I got an error message telling me that there was no disk in the drive.

I also have an adobe acrobat updater pop up everytime I start my computer. Not sure if this is something bad or just normal.

I would like to see a copy of the file .

Man, something is definetly off. I came home after the game and BAM computer was completely messed up. There were so many windows open it locked up the computer. I had to pull the plug out to get it to turn off.

I am trying to zip those files, but in the meantime here is a new HijackThis log.

Remove C:\!KillBox and C:\avenger remove the folders and the files in them.

The other files I was looking at look like the are for uplaoding files to the net.

Run this online scan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm) and post the results here.

I just wond up deleting the files off my harddrive. Was that the wrongway to do that? Should I have used add/remove programs?

Also, is the myftp.exe safe to allow it to connect to the internet or no? I get a prompt from zonealarm.

I will do the scan when I get home from work. Running late.

Destination IP address is 207.154.29.20.21.
It has no source IP.
Direction is "Outgoing(connect)".
Destination DNS is "rockford.discoerconsole.com

The compaq connections.exe has a whole bunch of IP's, destination DSN's

I am also getting some pop up messages stating that I am about to be redirected to a new internet site. And warns me about information.

And another pop up message telling me about adult websites and wants to install DriverCleaner on my computer.

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/Bitmaps/Folder.png

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/Bitmaps/Fix01b.jpg

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works.
It will create a file named: c:\rapport.txt
Please post the C:\rapport.txt in your next reply

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

After checking it looks like the program is clean. Thought it may have installed

Lets run combofix.exe again
http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/combofix.exe

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Then rename myFTP.exe to myFTP.old
