Peeked at the sticky subject and I already did just that. Used to do a boot up scan each time and now I can't, gets to roughly 32,000 to 33,000 (That double # at the bottom, 32,000/55,000 ?) and either it BSOD (IRQL_NOT_EQUAL or Pool_Header_Corrupt) or it "Boops!" and freezes, which for XP, that's scary. :spider:
I dusted out the heat sink and checked, it's on solid. Took off the cover and left it off even after dusting out the intake and outtake fans and the slots they suck / blow though. I uninstalled Spybot, rebooted, reinstalled Spybot, updated it, and at 32262 (or something like that) it went "Boop!" and froze WinXP solid.
Checked and Windows Update says there are no new updates for my copy of Windows XP Pro SP2.
So I am at a loss as to why it suddenly deciding to freak out in the same general area each time. System isn't entirely dust free, but what system is? But the fan and heat sinks aren't covered in a blanket.
Help?
