Glad there's a forum like this out there.
It confirms there being good people in the world...

Anyways...I got Bar888 (which shows up in my add/remove software oddly enough) -- Ipwins.exe keeps trying to access the internet, but ZoneAlarm keeps shutting it down (which I promptly deny). Zonealarm doesn't know what it is -- on their website too...but what is it? Several sites say it's bad and want to sell their adware products. I'll research the forums a bit more, but thought I'd list it in my post too.

I turned off ZonAlarm for a couple days (tisk tisk) -- and downloaded stuff from p2p...anyways...I vowe never to do that again. :red:
Oh yeah...update.exe keeps trying to access the internet too. I keep denying.
Not sure what it is...too generic sounding.

I've run ZoneAlarm's Spyware scan (usual suspects were found and dealt with) All definitions are up to date and I'm currently running a virus scan. I will probably repost with results tomorrow. If someone sees a problem right away from my hijack log....help is greatly appreciated.:bigthumb: :)

Here's my hijack log:

Hi SirBoRt

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. You are quite behind on your Windows Updates and Patches!!

The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Click here to get WinXP SP1a: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0136e5f8-1684-4202-b2d0-c6a43430f12a&DisplayLang=en)

Apply the update, reboot, then go to Windows Update and install all the Critical Updates (Note: Except for WinXP SP2)
Click here for Windows Update: http://www.windowsupdate.com/ (http://www.windowsupdate.com/)

After installing all the Patches and updates, reboot, then post a fresh Hijack This log.

Thanks for the reply :)
Yeah...I was better about upgrading when I had Windows 2000.
I'll do it tonight and repost ASAP.
