install & update & scan

I am unable to install all of the S&D software so have to ignore part of the elements. . .then, I am unable to install some of the updates. . . then when I scan, the bar at the bottom says "unknown". . . this program worked great before today, but it crashed and it had to be reformatted. . . .probably not enough info yet, but I can provide lots more for anyone who might have some ideas. . .thank you

I think that you will have to provide some details about what "elements" of the software that you can't install, the reason that these "elements" of the software can't be installed or at least the error messages you are getting while attempting the installation of these "elements" of the software.
