I think Spybot disabled my ability to follow affiliate links, such as generated by Link Share. This affects both Firefox and Internet Exploder. Does anyone know how to restore that ability?

I believe that LinkShare uses a cookie xxx.linksynergy.com. Spybot's immunization process as well as other anti-malware processes such as SpywareBlaster block cookies from linksynergy.com sites. As far as Spybot's immunization goes, this would only affect Internet Explorer and should not affect your ability to follow links, although without this cookie the advertising affiliate may not get credit for the sale if the affiliate id is storied in the cookie rather than being in the link itself.
On the other, hand if you use add on HOSTS files such as hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS (not Spybot's HOSTS file), access to certain xxx.linksynergy.com sites are blocked entirely.
If you still believe it is Spybot causing the problem, disable the following features if you enabled them originally:
Go into Spybot > Immunize
Click "Undo" button (at the top of the right pane)
Uncheck (if checked) the following:
"Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer"
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Hosts file
Click the "Remove Spybot S&D hosts list" button (at the top)
Exit Spybot-S&D
Restart your browser.
