Hello friendly spybot community! I stumbled upon this forum group when I was trying to find information on a few issues with my PC.
>> infected : > mutant: Worm.Akbot.Gen!Pac1 < in C:\WINDOWS\System32\jvmmods.exe,vstldmem.exe, C:\WINDOWS\LKMKNDHBW.exe, C:\WINDOWS:\VWBYDHEKF.exe
and so on> this is from my latest Scan.

Currently I am using Free PCtoolsAntivirus. I am using this because my Internet Providers (charter) free Security Package got somehow Infected By this trojan of sorts. It blocked me Out from enabling settings, and eventually dissalowed any internet browsing and such. Painstakingly i had to remove it from my system, and download the PCtools free pack.

The whole epidemic was from me trying to get a Crack from some random site... dumb me.

Anyways. My PC is running Alright right now. The PCtools anti-virus has fixed some of the visible problems, but i still get issues when I open my Windows Folder. 3 or so malicious things try and flare up, but the Anti-virus Blocks them (hasnt removed).

Beyond annoying random errors most seems ok.

What should i do next? (recommend programs?/ HIJACKthis scan?)

Thank you.

Hi, welcome to Safer Networking forums!

I still see running processes from the free security package given by your ISP..Are you sure you uninstalled all its components?

Since HijackThis creates backups of all it fixes and we want them safe and secured should they be required later, we need to move HijackThis to a permanent folder.

a.) While in your Desktop, right click in the background > Go to New > click Folder > Name the Folder HJT

b.) After creating the folder, find your HijackThis.exe (it looks like a detonator with some dynamites). Then, drag and drop that file to the new folder you created.

______________________

Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player are Viewpoint components which are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". In 2006, this may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware (http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3561546).

If you decided to remove Viewpoint,

Please download Viewpoint Killer (http://bellsouthpwp.net/p/r/prprogramsstudios/viewpointkiller.zip)

Save it to your Desktop
Create a new folder in your desktop by right clicking on the background > New > Folder > name the folder Viewpoint Killer
Unzip the contents of the zip file to the newly created folder.
Open the Viewpoint Killer folder then run ViewpointKiller, and select File > Do All Killings.
Follow the prompts, selecting Yes or No, depending on which selection you are most comfortable with.
A logfile will be created in the folder you unzipped ViewpointKiller to, please copy and paste the contents of the logfile here.

*Please download AVG Anti-Spyware to your Desktop or to your usual Download Folder.
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install AVG Anti-Spyware by double clicking the installer.
Follow the prompts. Make sure that Launch AVG Anti-Spyware is checked.

Wait until you see the Update succesfull message.
Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware Tray Icon and uncheck Start with Windows.

Although It says "no action taken", I Deleted the 1 Other Mal ware file On the spot. (after the report file saved).

After I rebooted In Normal mode (from safe mode) It took almost twice as long to boot and load my system files. Probably due to safe mode changes.

Tishagi, the reason Angelfire777 requested the logs:

5) Final Run:
Towards the end of a cleanup please make sure you follow through with any final log requested even if it appears to you that your computer is back to normal operation.
As much as we like our members ;) we would rather not see you back in a few weeks because there was no follow up with the helper.
