I've had no problems ever running S&D, but today it goes just a little bit into the check before saying 'User abort: scan was not completed successfully'.
Thing is, I didn't touch it.
What's up?

The problem has been reported several times before. I don't really think that anyone has quite figured out the exact cause of the problem. However, uninstalling Spybot-S&D and using this very small fix (http://www.safer-networking.org/files/remove-spybotsd-settings.reg) from the following WEB page before reinstalling appears to correct the problem in most cases:

I have no idea how to use that fix you gave me.
Then again I'm not the most savvy person around.

Download this very small fix (http://www.safer-networking.org/files/remove-spybotsd-settings.reg) (remove-spybotsd-settings.reg).
Double click on the remove-spybotsd-settings.reg file.
Answer "Yes" then "OK" to the messages received.
I know this is an old thread but I was having this problem with 1.5.1.15.
Just letting people know the above fix also works with this newer version.
I had 1.4 on this machine so some older files/entries were possibly left behind.
