spybot and bitdefender

I just installed bitdefender and my system is now performing horribly.

In its general notes on their software, Bitdefender reports that there may be a conflict with spybot. I am trying to uninstall Spybot and find out if that is the problem, but Spybot will not uninstall...

I have Windows ME. What can I do ?
