Computer slowing down

In the last month or 2 my computer is going noticably slower, i play games and pretty much any game i play is choppy. and there seems to be times where it everything just stops responding for a minute or 2. I have ran a few spyware things and a few virus removers but havent found anything.

Welcome to the forum, Benny I don't know if I can help your games but you have a mess on the computer. If you are not being helped elsewhere, follow these instructions and let's see what happens.

1) Move HJT from the Desktop for safety. I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm

2) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly.

3) Do you own this program: C:\Program Files\Prevx1\ if not, and the trial period is past, uninstall it. It gives no benefits and is an intense resource user.

ok, deleted prevx1. The reason i have 2 virus things right now is my mcafee subscribtion ran out and i havnt got a new one yet, not sure if thats still a problem.

Thanks for the feedback:
ok, deleted prevx1. You do not delete programs, you uninstall them, if you delete them often files will be left to cause problems.

not sure if thats still a problem. Yes it is a problem, did you read the information I posted? The program conflict with each other, give false reading and on and on. We cannot troubleshoot other issues when we don't know for sure if that is causing the problem.
Both programs are still running, look in the 023 Services and you can see them both. I will remove the junk I see and I do not want another HJT log until you are running one antivirus program. At that point, post a HJT log and tell me about any problems.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Program Files\NudgeMania\ <<< delete that folder

C:\Program Files\IGN\ <<< delete that folder

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

alright, just for future reference i did unistall the prevx1... just said deleted hehe :oops:. I have gotten rid of the AVG antivirus. I did what you said to do with java, unistalled old ones and got new one.

1)made folders visable

2) downloaded atf cleaner

3) done.

4) deleted ign, "C:\Program Files\NudgeMania\ <<< delete that folder" that folder is not in there

5) done.

new HJT log.... only one antivirus
