Hi everyone!
I really hope you can help me with this problem, I have tried various solutions in other forums but nothing seems to get rid of it!! If I try with Norton Internet Security 2005 to delete it, it says it has found the file and deleted it, but the next time I boot up, the trojan appears again!!
Here is my HiJack This log file thing, (I'm not amazingly laptop literate)

Hi again :)
I forgot to warn that one or more of the identified infections steal information. If this system is used for online banking or has credit card information on it, all passwords should be changed immediately by using a different computer (not the infected one!) to make the changes. Banking and credit card institutions, if any, should be notified of the possible security breech. I suggest that you read this (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451) article too.
You should print these instructions or save these to a text file. Follow these instructions carefully.
Download this uninstaller but don't run it yet. http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe
Then install MVPS HOSTS:
Download and unzip hosts.zip from HERE (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.zip) to a folder (hosts).
When you get a chance please read more about what we are doing HERE (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm).
Here's a Tutorial (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts2.htm) on how to install it, but it's installed like this:
Open up the hosts folder and double-click on the mvps.bat file, it will rename your present HOSTS file to HOSTS.MVP, then it will copy the new HOSTS file to the correct location on your machine. It happens very quickly so don't blink!
You're done with this step.
Open Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Remove all the of the following or similar entries if found:
IpWins
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
OIN
and any other programs you didn't install or don't recognize - if your not sure please ask first
Then run the OiUninstaller.exe you downloaded earlier. Tutorial for the uninstaller if needed (http://www.outerinfo.com/howto.html)
Download SDFix (http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.zip) and save it to your desktop.
Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
Choose your usual account.
In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the script.
It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

Ok looks clean now :)
Seems that one system component is missing, we'll restore it.
Go to:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\msiexec.exe
Hold down the right mouse button on msiexec.exe and drag it to the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder. Release the mouse. A menu will appear. Click copy. It will ask if youwant to overwrite the current copy. Say yes.
Restart the computer, post a fresh HijackThis log to here.

hmm, bit of a problem here,
I can't find this directory: C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\
the folder 'dllcache' I can't seem to find anywhere
Hmm, any ideas?
Ok let's see...
Go to Start >Run and type "Notepad" without the quotes
Copy the text from the quotebox to Notepad.
Go to the menu at the top of the Notepad file and Save as: Name the file peek.bat Save as Type: All files Select the desktop icon on the left to save it on the desktop.
Double click on peek.bat and let it run.
When finished it will open a file in Notepad.
That file will be named where.txt
Please post the contents of where.txt into your next reply here.
if not exist Files MkDir Files
cd \ & dir /s /a /b msiexec.exe > where.txt
Start Notepad where.txt

'C:\WINDOWS\$MSI31Uninstall_KB893803v2$\msiexec.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\msiexec.exe'
So I then looked again for the C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
directory but still cant find it
Ok it should be there.
Please make sure that the hidden files are visible and try again :)
Make your hidden files visible:
Go to My Computer
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
Click the View tab.
Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.
