Program hangs after auto-update

Today I tried to start Spybot, and it started as normal, with the auto-update downloading and installing, but it starts to not respond at the last second before the window loads. I am going to try restarting the computer, and will edit this post if that solves the problem.

edit function not working, so....

I shut down the computer and restarted, then retried starting the program, and it hangs in the same place. Help is greatly appreciated.
