Protection Bar

Please Help!
I am a competent PC user but am lost now that my PC is infected. I need some simple advice please.
I have been infected with a 'trojan'(?). Since this have run windows defender which detected and removed a 'Zlob', but the rogue 'Protection Bar' is still there!
Please Help! I have seen that others have had the same problem but still do not understand what I need to do!
