Win32.Trojan.Peflog.30 & Win32.Coupons

Hello

This afternoon, my daily ZoneAlarm spyware scan found the following 2 items:-

Win32.Trojan.Peflog.30
This was listed as being in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall\HijackThis
On recommendation from ZoneAlarm, I quarantined this item.

Win32.Coupons
This was listed as being in:
C:\WINDOWS\csquiel.ocx
On recommendation from ZoneAlarm, I deleted this application.

I was naturally concerned, as the only spyware that ZoneAlarm normally finds on a daily basis is Tracking Cookies.

I ran a HijackThis scan and noticed that the word "Coupons" appears twice under O16. I include this scan below:-

hi don't know where to start,

you can relax. log looks ok.i dont see any of the first two you list in the log. i think the first one is a false positive. the 016 were installed at a web site, you can use hjt todelete them if you want.

you also have in addition to a ZA suite:
ad aware
ewido (merged with AVG) see link ;http://www.ewido.net/en/
widows defender
spy bot

really two anti malware apps is enough. i dont see a resident antivirus scanner in the log, the above are not antivirus software. do you need one?

C:\Program Files delete the folder.

I have deleted the O16 using Hijack This.

I have also removed MyWaySearchAssistant using the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. I can't see it in Program Files on C:\ so I presume it got rid of it from there.

The ZoneAlarm Security Suite that we have got has a anti-virus scanner which runs daily. I think the reason we have so much anti mal-ware applications on our machine is from downloading programs to fix/mend previous problems we've encountered. Perhaps I should do some tidying up and remove some of them which are unwanted.

if you know how malware gets on your computer, you will be able to avoid problems.

for example, that MyWaySearchAssistant could have come as a add-on to something else you downloaded, in which case it would have been mentioned in the EULA, the legal mubo jumbo nobody reads before they click " I Agree" it also could have spelled out what it would do in the backround, like track your surfing habits. toolbars, and search tools are highly suspect.
anyway enough of that. your log really wasnt bad at all compared to some "honey pots" ive seen here.
