My norton went out of date. I downloaded Kapersky on 30day trial. I think these are all part of the Luder.k family but i am not sure. Everytime i open internet explorer or task manager or outlook, Kapersky notifies my that c:windows/explorer.exe is trying to modify or inbed itself into another program. I have set all these to deny.
I also get a message about an INVADER that is trying to do something and i deny that as well.
Everytime i type any into my search bar. my explorer windows closes.
Everytime i go to download any removal software, my explorer window closes.
Everytime i get to do a on-line scan, it closes before it finishes.
I have been going back and forth to a friends trying to get stuff to help me get rid of these. i eventually got Spybot installed, and Ad-aware. i haven't got highjack this up yet. i am e-mailing it to myself and hopefully i can get it up and running later.
if i can get it working i will post the report.
i just wanted to get this thread started.
hopefully i will have Norton2007 this weekend but i do not if it will remove these completely.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated in helping.
i have tried to run highjackthis and it starts then closes down.
any ideas?
are there registry entries i need to delete or change?
anything that spy bot or ad-aware have came accross i have deleted.

Welcome to the forum, I'll try to help you but it may take some work. To clean the air first, I do not see much of what you say is there, it may be hidden, we will find that out as we work. This is at the very least a Wareout infection and you have a couple of trojans I do not recognize, nor does Google. We will go after Wareout first as see what happens.
We must have only one antivirus program running, you choose, but get rid of everything but the one. It looks like this is one:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softwin\BitDefender Communicator\ and you are showing C:\Program Files\Symantec\ If you need a free program use this one:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
If you use it only choose free...not trial or anything else. Do what you wish, just make sure one updated, active antivirus program is running in the next log you post, or let me know why. Here is information for you:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2000031316555206
"Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/03/AR2005120300087.html
Make sure you are running a firewall, if you have none, make sure the Windows Firewall is activated in the Security Center. We can discuss a better free firewall later if you wish.
Here is at least a big part of your trouble, you are hacked by these folks:
http://whois.domaintools.com/85.255.115.235
We will start like this:
Thanks to LonnyBJones and anyone else who helped with this fix.
1) Download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your Desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.
(hold the reports and logs until we finish)
2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.
3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\byhvbtuxyjjc.dll <<< delete that file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iieanhvdpxze.dll <<< delete that file
6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Restart the computer and post the report.txt from Fixwareout, a new HJT log and some feedback from you, that's a start.
Thanks

Craig? I knew this one was going to be tough, it looks like the Ukranians have learned a new trick. You said this:
Highjackthis - imcomplete. can do a system scan but closes before i get a chance to check boxes.and that's a real problem, we can not remove the junk without HJT. Let's try this:
Normal mode first to see if it works:
How to use the Delete on Reboot tool http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html#delreb
Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot.
Navigate to the file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\byhvbtuxyjjc.dll and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click no and enter this other file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iieanhvdpxze.dll Once you have them both entered, then Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.
Then restart the computer and go back to these instructions and complete them:
4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
If this does not work, then give it a try in safe mode:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html
This item: C:\WINDOWS\Temp\kdxxd.ren <<< in red is also bad, I would like you to delete all files in that Temp folder (not the folder)
Thanks
i can't delete the following. i even tried Dr.Delete with no success??
C:\WINDOWS\system32\byhvbtuxyjjc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iieanhvdpxze.dll
This item: C:\WINDOWS\Temp\kdxxd.ren...can't find this on my pc.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...42.html#delreb...this link keeps opening pages in my explorer.

i can't delete the following. i even tried Dr.Delete with no success??You understand what the options are? Those items have to go. Have you tried to run HJT again?
What happens when you run the Delete on Reboot tool?
You can try Killbox, here is the download site and a tutorial:
http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=320
You can also try running this scan:
http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165
Delete or at least quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.
Security Central has been having problems with their website, if you can not access it, use this one:
http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/33/
Thanks
cant run the delete on reboot tool

Thanks for posting the HJT log, it appears you are making some progress. I wish you would please stop using the word "can't" that is giving up and the option is a reformat!!
Please tell me why you can not use the "Delete on Reboot tool"? It is used all the time and if you can not get it to work I need to find out why. Not only will this help you, but it will help others who come after, who may have the same Wareout infection.
Please read the direction for the "Delete on Reboot tool" and try it again, make sure you are following the directions exactly. Instead of trying to do two files at once, do them one at a time. Make sure your put the entire pathway of the file in the tool.
If you can not get it to work, move to the Killbox and read those directions, then follow them carefully.
The AVG Anti-Spyware tool can be downloaded any run anytime you want. It will not remove those two files, but it might clean other junk so you can use the tools we need to use.
Keep me posted...Phil
this is some of my spybot report thought it might help..i have to go to another computer to try get Killbox and AVG and e-mail them to myself.

when i run it again the other file remains..
I have no idea what that means, post a new HJT log so I can see what is left.
Add any comments you think will help.
Thanks

Please describe what you believe your malware issues are. Post any error messages you are receiving "word for word" and include a new HJT log. Please post only what I request.
Thanks
my current situation is as follows.
I have been unable to remove the following files.
byhvbtuxyjjc.dll
iieanhvdpxze.dll
I am unable to run HJT/Killbox or similar programs. Everytime I search for any spy/malware removal tools, my explorer closes. (on a previous post HJT was renamed, i might try this) On the occasion that I have succeeded with HJT and gotten a log, if i try to open the log alone it closes. I have to be quick with Select all Ctrl+C then open notepad and paste. Getting good at that bit now...lol
I run spybot everyday when i log in and it always posts the same reg key error. something to do with windows security center changed to w=2.
the above two files are in my Win Logon. there are entries in winlogon notify in my registry. I deleted all instances of them. rebooted and hey presto they are back.
Hey i have atleast stopped saying CAN'T....lol
Delet on Reboot Tool= I have tried several of these as i can never get HJT to run long enough to do much with it.
I am unable to run windows update. It say windows installer is missing or deleted. I go to Microsoft Windows Update and I try to undate installer and it downloads the installs, then goes back saying the files are missing.(don't know if this is related or not)
I have full version of Norton Internet Security 2007 running, on my PC.
I will try running a new HJT tomorrow as i am in work now and will post it.

OK, and thanks for that feedback, since you are having problems running the tools we use, I will do what I can but I can make no promises. You may want to start thinking about a reformat. It might be your best bet.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+reformat&btnG=Google+Search
Thanks
i have been reading through your forums and came accross this thread. which i found to be exactly the same as mine at the start. highjacked by the same crowd in Ukraine. i will start again from scratch and remova all tools downloaded so far except for ATF cleaner and HJT(renamed)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=12047
hopefully i can get his fixed with our a Format.
if this is the only option for me will copying some of my files to disk for put back on bring the problem back??
post again tomorrow

While you did have a similiar infection to the member in that link, but you had many more infections and while we have removed a lot of the junk, the damage they did to your computer is making it hard for us to use the tools we need to use to remove the last of the infection. If you will post a HJT log and give me a look at where we are, I will do my best to advise you at that point.
Thanks
i have been unsuccessful at trying to get HJT to run. i even renamed it and still no joy. I did eventually get my self a copy of Killbox but as with HJT it wont run long enough to get any use out of it. I really appreciate all you efforts in trying to help me but i guess i am resigned to the fact that i will have to format.
when i get beck up and running i will hopefully be clean of this. i think i can get boot disk for XP from www.bootdisk.com. is it a boot or start up disk i need to make, not sure.
stay safe everyone

Sorry to hear you have to go this route, but it is not a bad thing. Do a little research so you know what you are doing, get your backups in place and you will have no problems. I have an old Compaq 7360 with Windows 98SE that I dearly love (first computer) and it had about stopped even though it was clean of malware. I reformatted and now it runs like new:) I keep it in the garage and only take it out for a drive a few times a year.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+reformat+windows+XP&btnG=Search
i have made a bit of pregress.
i have been able to get windows update working.
i have been able to get notron updating properly.
i was think could i copy a winlogon file from another computer and copy it to mine to replace the infected one.
then delete all reg entries.
create a restore point with the new winlogon file.
reboot to safe and try HJT and killbox to see if anything remains.
only an idea. if it saves me from formatting.
i have been removing stuff slowly, getting rid of programs i can get again in case there are infected and leaving only stuff i want to keep so i can format with as little time as possible..

Try running System File Checker, if a file is missing or corrupt, it should replace it for you. You may need the Windows CD:
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
i am still her..looking for my xp disk. was in the middle of packing to move..will post as soon as possible
ran /sfc scannnow
got to run ewido online scanner but crashed at my java folder.
so i might start removing more programes and keep trying to get HJT to un then. will keep you posted

If you still wish to pursue this, let's take a fresh approach.
1) Please download F-Secure BlackLight Beta:
https://europe.f-secure.com/exclude/blacklight/index.shtml
Save it to its own folder in the Desktop
Double-click blbeta.exe to run the program
Click : Scan
A list of all items found is created
The list is in the BlackLight folder on the Desktop, and named fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (xxxxxxx are numbers).
Please provide the log created by BlackLight in your next reply.
Don't try to fix anything, most if not all items will be valid.
2) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
Post the Uninstall list, the scan results from BlackLight and a fresh HJT log.

Thanks

I would still like to see your uninstall list!!
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
I suggest you do this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Craig\Desktop\blbeta\fsbl.exe <<< delete BlackLight
Move HJT to here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdocvw.dll
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdocvw.dll
O16 - DPF: {215B8138-A3CF-44C5-803F-8226143CFC0A} (Trend Micro ActiveX Scan Agent 6.6) - http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ho...vex/hcImpl.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: byhvbtuxyjjc - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byhvbtuxyjjc.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: iieanhvdpxze - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iieanhvdpxze.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: udt - C:\WINDOWS\
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
