"Resident denied change.."

I'm new so bear with me, thanks.

When trying to apply screensavers a message reads 'spybot detected a change in the registry, .... offers to 'remember this decision?' and either way I check it, gives a message that ' resident has denied the change' and will not apply the screensaver. A few other things have been blocked this way also. I appreciate help, thanks.

The following applies to TeaTimer 1.4 only.

Have you applied one of the fixes to TeaTimer 1.4 so that "Allow change" and "Deny change" buttons are showing or are you using the "A" or "D" keyboard workaround?

If you just closing the dialog no matter what the status of the "Remember this decision" option the change will be denied.

Workaround and fixes.

There is currently a bug in TeaTimer 1.4. Portions of TeaTimer's popup dialog overlay the "Allow change" and "Deny change" buttons. On my system the very top edges of the "Allow change" button (on the left) and "Deny change" button (on the right) are showing and I am still able to select the options. I also can check "Remember this decision" since it is visible. If no portion of the "Allow change" and "Deny change" buttons are showing, you can answer TeaTimer's popup dialog (English language version) by pressing "A" on your keyboard for "Allow change" or "D" for "Deny change". Note: If you close the dialog without answering "Allow change" or "Deny change" the registry change is denied.

If you can't deal with the problem that way until it is fixed, you can:

Disable TeaTimer as follows:
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident.
Uncheck the following:Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.



There is also a beta test version of TeaTimer available that overcomes this problem. To download the ßTeaTimer 1.5:
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > Settings.
Page down the option tree until you see a section titled "Web update" (just past half way down).
In the "Web update" section check the following option:
Display available beta versions.
Click Spybot-S&D (left pane).
Click Search for Updates (right pane).
When the list of available updates appears, check the following item:
ßTeaTimer 1.5 - !Resident protection update (1 MB) - 2007-02-14
Click Download Updates.

Note# 1: To the right of the Target File (TeaTimer.exe) there is a button that looks like "[ . . . ]". Click on that button, navigate to the correct folder, click "Open" and then "Start".

I am getting this random change denials too, and it's not related to the bug obscuring the buttons. It seems to be denying changes without my asking, and it is REALLY screwing things up. I don't have it "remember" anything either - my black and white list is empty.
If I uninstall Spybot, will the mess on my computer be restored? I lost my entire C drive last week thanks to this issue, and now my display is stuck on a low resolution. I don't get the popup ASKING me what to do, even though I've never checked "remember this action," it just does it. If I turn off teatimer/resident it doesn't seem to solve the problems, either. The registry change denials still seem to be in effect.
