Indeed.

"BEFORE you POST" -Preliminary Steps

Multi forum posters waste valuable volunteer resources, so please don't.

It also:

Takes valuable volunteer resources away from other members waiting for assistance.

Puts your PC at risk because you are taking a bit of this and a bit of that from different sources, without the helpers being aware.

"without the helpers being aware" Just to get the facts straight, I let you know that I had posted on spywareinfo in my very first post asking for assistance here. (see http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=71090&postcount=1 (http://http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=71090&postcount=1) . . . that was the original thread I started before I was asked to continue it in the Malware removal forum). The reason I posted on spybot was that the bug was preventing me from installing spybotsd, so I thought you might have run across it previously and have a solution. No one said "You've already started with spywareinfo, so why don't you just continue with them . . . . ".

I also had read the rules before posting, but I interpreted "Multi forum posters waste valuable volunteer resources, so please don't." as asking people not to post on multiple forums on spybot.info, not as a request not to post on different boards.

Anyhow, thanks for the assistance. I will continue to seek a solution with spywareinfo and will let you know if the culprit is found . . . :)

Hello alex95070.

I see where the confusion started: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=11586

No doubt Team saw the infection showing in the log you emailed them, and I received a request for you start a topic in the malware forum.

Although you did link back to the topic in the Spybot-S&D forum, apprantly the sentence regarding SWI was missed when browsing the thread.

However, it appears that you had not notified your helper at SWI that you were also doing fixes here on the same machine.

When they were informed:

alex95, you need to pick one place to get help and stick with that one. Now personally, I would reformat your machine and when done, put on legit programs instead of cracked ones. :spider:
