I have somehow gotten the infamous System Alert Popup.

I have downloaded these programs, SmitFraudFix, SuperAntiSpyware, and ATF-Cleaner.

I need directing on which programs to use, and when and how to use them to rid my comp of this Malware.

I have Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, if you still need help, follow these directions.
It appears you have missed some important instructions our administrator has posted at the top of the forum, especially this: "BEFORE you POST" Mandatory Steps Before Requesting Assistance
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
Please read and follow all instructions and post all required logs or reports, anything less will slow your process.
Use "Post Reply" to post the information in the instructions and stay in the same topic.

I would prefer you do not run any tools until I have a look at the HJT log. If you are positive you have a Smitfraud infection, and you downloaded
SmitFraudFix v2.148 then you can do this:
Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Here is a tutorial if it helps: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
It is very important that you run no more of the fix until we establish the infection is present.

Post the C:\report.txt along with the HJT log. You may wait on the antivirus scan, I will let you know if I need it.

Thanks

Sorry about that, guess I wanted to fix problem so badly I didn't really look at the rules =\

I have Run My Anti-Virus, ATF-Cleaner, and My Spybot S&D, already, all in safe mode.

Here is my HJT Log:
I hope this is what you need.

I understand, but many a war has been lost because of rushing into battle. Since we are working on your computer please read and follow all directions carefully.

Post the C:\report.txt along with the HJT log. You may wait on the antivirus scan, I will let you know if I need it.I need to see the report from SmitFraudFix v2.148 SEARCH, if that infection is present, we must address it first.

Thanks

Thanks, I does not make a difference in this case, but there was no request that the "Search" be run in Safe Mode?

Follow these directions please:

1) C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Local Settings\Temp\wz5fba\HijackThis.exe
You are running HJT from a Temp folder and you will have no backups for safety if neded. I prefer you move it here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need more instructions use these:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

2) Optional fix:
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge and at the least is a resource waster, it can be uninstalled in Add Remove programs.

http://www.greatis.com/appdata/u/v/viewmgr.exe.htm
http://www.spywareinfo.com/newsletter/archives/2005/nov4.php#viewpoint
http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3561546

3) http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<<< tutorial if needed
Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Optional: To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Restart the computer and post the C:\report.txt from Smitfraudfix and a new HJT log.

Thanks
