View Full Version : Windows cannot find C:\Windows\inet20001\services.exe

My computer was recently infected by a spware (coolwebsearch, TNS search) and I used spybot to remove it. While the main problem has been eliminated, I keep receiving the following message whenever I log on:

"Windows cannot find C:\Windows\inet20001\services.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again"

When I say OK on this window, I receive the following message:

"Cannot load or run C:\Windows\inet20001\services.exe specified in the registry. Make sure the file exists or remove its reference from the registry. "

Other than this problem everything seems to be fine. This message was coming even when the spyware had not been removed by Spybot.

I am not sure if this is a problem that must be addressed or just a nuisance that I have to live with.

I would highly appreciate any help in this regard.

Thanks,

Vkt33
