View Full Version : I need your help! [Re-Opened]
Three days before,when i launched the internet explorer,an error message informed me about a virus called myzor or something like that which infected my exe files and added values to registry keys.I have norton internet security 2007 installed in my pc but when i ran a system scan i found nothing.I run several scans with other antivirus and anti-spyware programs and i cleaned several threats with these software products.Now,there are no error messages but when i run a scan with "spybot-Search and destroy" once or twice a day,it says that windows security center is disabled and also shows the same settings:HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wscsvc\Start!=W=2
I click "fix problems" but every next day,there is a new registry entry.Except this,the scan finds a Zlob.VideoAccessActiveXObject.I am a beginner at all these stuff,so i would be very grateful if someone could explain
what are all these registry entries and what is actually happens in my pc.I also want some good advice of how to get rid of the problem....i will appreciate your assistance...thank you

Please post a HijackThis log to here: Click here (http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/HijackThis.exe) to download HijackThis.exe
Save HijackThis.exe to your desktop.
Create a new folder named HijackThis to your desktop. Move Hijackthis.exe into that folder.
Run HijackThis.exe
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Restart your computer

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".
The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #3 - Delete Trusted zone by typing 3 and press Enter.
Answer Yes to the question "Restore Trusted Zone ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.
Run HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and check the box next to each of these entries if still present. Close all other windows and press Fix checked. If something isn't there, please continue with the next entry in the list.

Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make that the following are selected:

Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases
Click OK
Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
This will program will start and scan your system.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
Now click on the Save as Text button:
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.

i was forced to uninstall norton as it said that there was a subscription error...was that because of the virus?).Actually,i have o lot of questions...Were these registry entries made by norton?(windows security center disabled)...or a malicious program made registry entries at last?anyway,the condition of the pc seems

it is good that you removed Norton as you already have AVG Antivirus running. Running two antiviruses can cause all kinds of problems.
It is possible that Norton has shutdown Windows firewall etc...

Have you tried if it runs after a reboot?
Have you cleaned any messages from inbox etc? Sometimes huge amount of mail can slow it down.

Open AVG Anti-Spyware
Click Infections
Click Quarantine tab
Click Select all
Click Remove finally
Close the program
You can remove the tools we used.
Then you should update your Java to the latest version (6u1) Start

Add/Remove Programs
Delete the old Java, J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11

Usually you aren't able to say the exact time when you got infected. Also nowadays we have some powerful infections...Best way to deal with viruses is to stay protected and up-to-date.
You can keep IE installed. It is quite hard to remove from Windows. IE vulnerabilities won't work for FireFox.

The best thing would be to re-install/repair the installations of AVG Antivirus.
The System Restore may restore the infections too. Can you remember that what was the date of the point that you used?

yesterday,spybot found one possible hijacker threat and windows security center disabled...there were 2 registry entries....that's all...thanks a lot and i will be waiting for your replay...

The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
Scan Options:
Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases
Click OK
Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
This will program will start and scan your system.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
Now click on the Save as Text button:
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.

so what are the 3 viruses that the online scan finds?i also made a scan with spybot but it finds nothing....2 days ago,it had found the 2 threats that i mentioned above and i fixed them.the problems with drive E have stopped since the fixing...i don't know what to say...what are the infections that kaspersky finds??

no,i don't use it...i had downloaded from a site and i remember that norton blocked it...anyway,quite stupid of me...is it unsafe for my pc?i just deleted the archive...
Well it isn't that bad if you downloaded it. Norton detects it as a hacktool...
So everything is ok now ?

my last question is if it would be better to reinstall the norton internet security pack and remove avg anti-spyware(its trial period expired) and the avg anti-virus...now i don't have a firewall while norton has and i plan just to keep norton and spybot...

Yes you may install Norton Internet Security if you want. You really must use firewall and antivirus. Uninstall AVG antivirus if you install Norton. And the AVG antispy you may keep if you wan't, you can update and scan with the "trial" version.
