Hi all!
I am new here and am looking for some help on how to remove the Win32: Trojan-gen. virus/worm. I am currently using avast! which I know is kind of a piece. I've read over some old forums and downloaded the hijack thing to get a log file so here it is:

***Looking at this means nothing to me so I am asking for help from someone that can tell me what is harmful to my computer. My computer was fine before I left for spring break a week ago, I turned it on last night and it has been acting extremely weird. My computer found the Win32: Trojan-gen and "I moved it to chest".

I also run CounterSpy on my computer. What do i need to do to remove this from my computer? All and any help is much appreciated, Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum, since it looks like you multiposted and I see no antivirus scan results, I will assume you missed these instructions:
"BEFORE you POST" Mandatory Steps Before Requesting Assistance http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
I will also say that HJT is just short of a miracle but it can not show everything, which is why we do the online scan. I see no evidence of any malware in either of your HJT logs. Here is information about the item you mention:

What I suggest you do is update your resident antivirus program and run a complete system scan. If it is clean and you want a second opinion, choose one of the free online scans suggested in the link I posted. If all is well, post and let me know, I will have some great information to help you keep it that way.
