I run Spybot Resident and Tea Timer, as well as Zone Alarm firewall and AVG antivirus on Windows XP Pro. Zone Alarm has recently introduced its own spyware.
Something appears to have changed the SearchAssistant in IE6 to be Google, whereas we use Yahoo as the home page. Started getting a lot of messages from Spybot asking to approve a registry change for the SearchAssistant. I denied it whereupon I got hundreds of messages, all exactly the same denying the change to the SearchAssistant. Could only stop by switching off tea timer. I am not sure if its relevant but the tea timer icon in the system tray says it has 1730 blacklisted items.
Is this a bug with the tea timer software, a problem with my system, or a virus introduced by this program (whatever it was) that changed the SearchAssistant in the first place? Or is it fine and I should just let it continue to its conclusion?
