View Full Version : Url.cpvfeed spyware and others

My pc was recently infected by a number of viruses and spyware/adware while browsing. I've used pretty much everything I can think of, and I have removed most of it, but I still get popups when browsing from internet explorer with the url starting with url.cpvfeed, normally redirecting to another site. None of the antivirus/ spyware removal tools can seem to find it, so I turn to you. I've tried using vundofix to no avail as well... so I'm really not sure what to do at this point. Hjt log below.

hi Avengence,

you can try this:

start>settings>Control Panel> click the Internet options icon

Next:

Click on Delete Cookies.

Click on Delete Files, Make sure Delete all offline content is checked and then click on OK


Then click on Settings, then click on View Files if there is any thing in there, delete what you can
(edit>select all--- then file>delete)

using explorer(right click on start>explore) drill down to these >>> you want to delete whats >inside< the folder, not the folder itself. in
"normal mode" you wont be able to delete all the temps, just delete what you can.

hi Avengence,

ok lets see what AVG can dig up.

check for updates, do a scan then save the report:

select the "Reports" icon at the top.
* Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
screen and save it to a text file somewhere so you can find it. Please post the AVG log in next reply.

if there are alot of cookies in the report you can edit them out to keep it short.

AVG found zero threats... I've already scanned with just about everything... ewido, spyware doctor, virtumondobegone, CounterSpy, Ad-Aware, Norton Antivirus, McAffee, SDFix, SuperAntiSpyware, and more... some of my guildmates point to the possibility of a rootkit, so I'm running RootkitRevealer at the moment to see about that. Just about everything I have says I come out clean, I'll post a scan of Activescan which I took yesterday, I've since removed the cookies it found (duh).
