I am trying to access the internet so I can run an anti-virus program but I always get
safetypropage.com or anerrordns. I have another network computer which is o.k.; in fact that is what I am using now to write this info.

My system is Windows XP. I use BellSouth as my supplier and internet explorer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Hello.

In order for one of our helpers to assist you, a log is needed.

"BEFORE you POST" (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

If you have lost your internet connection on the infected computer, you can download HJT to a clean PC if one is available.

Burn to disc or load on floppy
Upload to infected machine
Place HJT into own folder
Run HJT on the infected PC and post the log you produce using the clean PC. :)

Hi, next time please post all your replies to this thread only, do not create a new topic.

If you have read carefully what tashi said to you, you would've seen this:

4) HiJackThis log

Please use HJT Version 1.99.1

At the present time, do not run Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA) to produce a log for this forum, unless specifically requested, or you have a Vista Operating System.

Downloads:

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip

If you are unfamiliar with zip programs get HijackThis.exe here:
http://www.merijn.org/files/HijackThis.exe

First put hijackthis into a permanent folder.
Do this first - go to C: and create a new permanent folder.
Example C:\AntiSpyWare or C:\hijackthis
This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong.
Then put (or download - choose "save" not "run") the hijackthis.exe file in this folder.
If you downloaded a zipped HJT file unzip it to the permanent folder so you have C:\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe.
Example of the wrong way:
C:\DOCUME~1\Name\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe
Running hjt from the wrong folder may delay assistance as your helper will have to ask for a new log.

If in doubt use this (http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis_sfx.exe) link to get HijackThis.
Save it to your desktop and then double-click to run it.
It will install the program in c:\program files\HijackThis.

Double click HijackThis.exe.
Hit None Of The Above, just start the program.
Hit Scan.
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Click that, save the log somewhere, and copy/paste into your own new topic ( http://forums.spybot.info/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=22)
a) The HJT log
b) The on-line Anti Virus scan log/report

How to copy and paste (http://www.webmasternow.com/copyandpaste.html)

Note: In notepad under Format, uncheck "Word Wrap" Produce all HJT logs like this, single spaced.
It is preferable, and the log easier to read, if you do not use the [CODE] or [PHP] options.

Please do not ask us to download or unzip the logs.
If they are too long for one post just make as many posts to your topic as necessary.

The topic's title should be the problem you believe you may have.
For instance; VirusBurst, Popups, Browser Hijack etc. Not just 'here is my hjt log' ;)

Please do not post *hot links* to malware sites in your post when describing the problem, the HJT log is enough.

Most of what HJT lists will be harmless or even required by your Operating System, so do not fix anything yet. A helper will guide you.
