is that anything to do with it?

hi Devilking,

i would either delete that copy of hjt and get another. why? because any backups it makes may be deleted.

like this:
* http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip
* If you are unfamiliar with zip programs get HijackThis.exe here:
* http://www.merijn.org/files/HijackThis.exe

* First put hijackthis into a permanent folder.
* Do this first - go to C: and create a new permanent folder.
Example C:\AntiSpyWare or C:\hijackthis
* This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong.
* Then put (or download - choose "save" not "run") the hijackthis.exe file in this folder.
If you downloaded a zipped HJT file unzip it to the permanent folder so you have C:\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe.
* Example of the wrong way:
C:\DOCUME~1\Name\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe
* Running hjt from the wrong folder may delay assistance as your helper will have to ask for a new log.

If in doubt use this link to get HijackThis.
Save it to your desktop and then double-click to run it.
It will install the program in c:\program files\HijackThis.

* Double click HijackThis.exe.
* Hit None Of The Above, just start the program.
* Hit Scan.
* When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
* Click that, save the log somewhere, and copy/paste back here.
------------------------------
log looks ok as far as malware goes. we can get a second opionion here:
Panda ActiveScan

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

* Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
* A new window will open...click the Check Now button
* Enter your Country
* Enter your State/Province
* Enter your e-mail address and click send (use a fake e-mail)
* Select either Home User or Company
* Click the big Scan Now button
* If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
* It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
* When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
* When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report in next reply.

hi Devilking,

dont see anything to be worried about. a false positive maybe on spyware doctors's part?

there is a tool to check for hackdoor. you can get it here;

http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/haxfix.exe

download it, install. it can launch after the install. a red DOS prompt will open, chose the first option makelog file by selecting option 1. after the scan a .txt file will open. please save that txt file somewhere, then post it in next reply.
