I thought I would be able to handle, if not prevent, this by now but I seem to have a sick computer again. A couple months ago I went through this process and got my computer repaired and what I thought was protected. http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=65757#post65757 but apparently not thoroughly enough.

Just one morning my mother complained AOL wasn't working (it's likely she downloaded something via email even though she refuses that she did such thing) and sure enough AOL, as well as AIM and SUPERantispyware, was corrupt. I updated my software, did countless scans, none that were too effective. Finally, virustotal revealed that all three programs' .exe were infected with what it described as: heuristics, W32/Tibs.gen, Trojan-Downloader.Obfuscated.1. I followed multiple online removal instructions and uninstalled the programs; still, no dice. I replaced SUPERantispyware with Avast and downloaded WinPatrol.

So this is were I stop before doing something so drastic as it may damage my computer, and hand it over to you.

I am also getting "avgcc.exe- unable to locate component" error at logon, it reads: This applicatio0n has failed to start because AvgTMgr.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I had similar errors with AIM, AOL and SUPERantivirus before I tried to fix them; reinstalling did not help.

Welcome back to the forum, not sure if I can help or not but I will give it a try. Let's start like this. Please complete the instructions in the numbered order.

1) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Uninstall one, update the one you keep and run a complete system scan, post for me any item that can't be removed, the complete name and pathway.

3) C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_09\ <<< Java is out of date, see this information:

Download the newest version in the Java Console (little coffee cup) in the Control Panel, then uninsatall all old versaions in Add Remove programs.

4) WinPatrol may block the changes we need to make, right click the running icon , and exit. It will be returned when you restart the computer.

5) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer, once the above instructions have been followed, post a new HJT log and let me know about any malware problems.

I had uninstalled AVG, I'm not exactly sure why it had showed in my scan but now its gone.

Please use HJT to remove that adware from your computer.

Then I suggest you do this: System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
