Clean?

I working on my friend's computer which they think got "infected with something". I've run anti-virus and nothing seems to be out of place, but here's the HJT log. Anything weird going on, aside from the obnoxious number of programs that start on boot up?

Welcome to the forum, it looks to be like you removed a Vundo infection and just did not get all of the junk on the computer. Please follow these directions carefully and in the posted order.
Make sure you have read these directions: "BEFORE you POST" Mandatory Steps Before Requesting Assistance

1) HJT is running from a Temp folder, move it here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need more instructions use these.

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall MyWebSearch. Uninstall anything else you know does not belong there.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\PROGRAM FILES~1\MYWEBSEARCH~1\ <<< delete that folder

C:\WINDOWS\system32\htimisfg.dll <<< delete that file

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer, then do this:
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Post that list from your Uninstall manager along with a new HJT log. Please add any comments you think will help.

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. I'll look at the uninstall list first, I am looking for malware and security problems, it's a good chance for you to look it over with your friend and to get rid of program no longer used. If you have doubts about what they are, Google them.

Open the Java Console in the Control Panel (little coffee cup) and click the updates tab. Check for updates, you want to keep the newest update and uninstall all others. Hackers have learned how to exploit those.

Logitech Desktop Messenger <<< if that is not use, while not malware it is a resource waster. I suggest uninstalling, it came with other Logitech products because the EULA was not read.

McAfee VirusScan <<< appears Computer Associates is your anti-virus protection and firewall supplier. I suggest you uninstall McAfee.

Viewpoint Media Player: For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge. I suggest you uninstall this resource waster in Add Remove programs.
