hey, guys I've been reading the forums and seen that you've fixed this for some other guys so thought id try.

about a week ago my brother went on msn and click on 1 of those "click here for a picture of you" links.

since he done that ive had problems with the net and when i open firefox/IE popups come up trying to connect to wxx.amaena.com or 89.188.16.10.

when i scanned with spybot and AVG awhile back it only really found Smitfraud-C.toolbar888. now its showing up with a fair bit more :S

i scanned just now and found:
- Advertising.com
- Avemie A. Inc.
- Doubleclick
- FastClick
- MediaPlex
- ReliableStats
- Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888
- SystemDoctor2006
- Winsoftware.WinAntiVirusPro2006

with AVG i find. user32.dll and ntoskrnl.exe have been changed.

i was looking on another thread and read something about VundoFix. i wasnt sure if it was the right thing to do but i ran it and it found this and vaulted them:

If you have not resolved your issues yet, and I can not tell you anything without seeing the results of the Vundofix scan, and still want our help, then please follow these instructions.

1) Use black when you post the logs, do not change the color.

You Java is out of date and that can cause this infections, download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove Programs.

3) You are running HJT.exe from a Temp folder where we will have no backups for safety if needed. Move it here: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe.
As soon as it is moved, then rename it to bot_killer2002.exe or whatever you wish. Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. If any of the Vundo infection is still there, we should be able to see it at that point.

4) You may hold the anti-virus scan mentioned in the instructions. I will let you know if I need it later.

ok i installed the new java and ran the online scanner, ran spybot in safemode until removed red and done a new HJT like you said. heres my logs

Thanks for returning your information, you do have a Vundo infection and it is a bad one. First a little information:

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Good job:bigthumb:with the Vundofix tool, looks like you killed that infection. Let's clean up and see how the computer is running.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

(this is very important, that you delete that file)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rbllqlgy.dll <<< delete that file

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running now.

well i don't seem to be getting those pop ups anymore :D, not sure if its completely removed though.

i tried to do what you said, i checked those 7 things in HJT clicked fix check and had nothing open other than HJT. then when i went to delete rbllqlgy.dll it said it was in use. so i restarted in safemode and got rid of it.

then i started comp back up used ATF and heres my new log:

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. You did good :bigthumb: by getting rid of that file that would have continued to cause problems. So you will know, HJT has a built in process manager. Assuming you followed the directions and removed the line with HJT (process is stopped) you should have been able to go straight to the file and delete it. If you reboot, then the process must be stopped again. Have a look at what HJT will do:

It also has a delete on reboot function for tough bad files:

which you could also have used.

You may rename HJT if you wish and delete any tools we downloaded for this repair. The exception is ATF-Cleaner, it is a nice small tool that you may keep if you wish. Please finish up like this:

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
