Welcome to the forum, I would like to help but I am not sure yet the extent of your infection. First I want you to read this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< very outdated, if you are not infected by Vundo at this point, you do not want to be. It also appears your autoupdating software for Java is not function:
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jucheck.exe
What I would like you to do is turn of the autoupdates, then download the newest version, then uninstall all old versions in Add Remove Programs.

You are running HJT.exe from a .zip file in a Temporary Directory. This is unsafe as we will have no backups. That is why you received this message when you used HJT: http://russelltexas.com/malware/images/unsafefolder.gif
Please use the information in the following link to place HJT in a permanent, safe folder, I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm

Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log Use Add Reply, stay in this topic.

We will see where were are at that point, keep the computer offline as much as possible and the hubby away from the machine.

Thanks

Continue with the rest of the instructions I posted to run SDfix. I will need to see another HJT log after SDFix is run to see what it removed.

Thanks

Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log Use Add Reply, stay in this topic.

I would appreciate it if you would post the report from SDFix, I need to see that information.

Thanks

1) In the beginning of my post #3 I asked you to update your Java program and gave you valid reasons for doing so:
First I want you to read this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\<<< it is still not updated. Before you do anything else, download the newest version of Java and then uninstall all old versions in add remove programs.

2) Tell me what these are:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [_SetRes] c:\hp\bin\cloaker c:\hp\bin\res.bat
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IcoSet] c:\hp\bin\cloaker.exe c:\hp\bin\IcoSet\adjust.bat setic
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [regcmdcons] c:\hp\bin\cloaker.exe c:\hp\bin\cmdcons.cmd
They appear to have something to do with HewlettPackerd? If you don't know if they are valid, use these free online scans to scan the files and post the results for me.
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html

3) I need to know exactly what your problems are, what are your symptoms? Are you receiving any error messages from Windows? If you are, post those errors messages "word for word".

4) C:\hjt\HijackThis.exe <<< return to here and point your mouse that the .exe, and choose rename. Call it foxykitty02134.exe or whatever you wish. This will show me if we have a Vundo infection after a reboot.

Complete all instructions, then post the information I requested along with a new HJT log after a reboot.

Thanks

ok. i updated the java.

these files have somthing to do i think wit an old printer that was installed on the computer before it was given to us we dont have the printer anymore but i dont know how to get rid of the files:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [_SetRes] c:\hp\bin\cloaker c:\hp\bin\res.bat
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IcoSet] c:\hp\bin\cloaker.exe c:\hp\bin\IcoSet\adjust.bat setic
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [regcmdcons] c:\hp\bin\cloaker.exe c:\hp\bin\cmdcons.cmd

my symptoms are the computers tower sounds kinda like its fan is speeding up real loud out of no where and it does it when i try and go online. it will do that and then nothing i click on will work not even the taskmanager, then when the sound go away all the stuff will open, everything i clicked opens except for the internet exploer.... to get the internet going i gotta turn off the cable modem then click on the internet explorer then turn the modem back on after the window pops up. it does it over and over again... and it does that on and off while the computer is on.

So here is the new hijackthis report after i did what u said and rebooted.

Thanks for the feedback, I see no Vundo infection, you may rename HJT.exe if you wish. We will remove the old HP printer items and clean a little.

I have to advise you these issues with the fan are not going to be malware. Can you tell me how old this computer is? When was the last time you opened the case and blew the dust out of the fans, etc? Are you running regular maintenance programs, defrag, etc? I also see you are still running Internet Explorer 6.0, wondering why you have not updated to the newest version which will afford you some additional protection?

to get the internet going i gotta turn off the cable modem then click on the internet explorer then turn the modem back on after the window pops up. it does it over and over again... I am considering this issue, may be a setting your ISP will have to help you wish, Let's see if that improves as we go along. Understand, I am about cleaning malware and we are moving into maintenance areas where I will do what I can to help.

First, what do you use as your home page? I see a lot of R1/R0 lines in your log that are HP redirects to aol. If aol is your homepage, let's remove all of those redirects that are not making your browser run better and if you want aol to be the home page set it as such.
http://compaq-desktop.aol.com/ If you are not sure how to do this, let me know and I will give you instructions.

SpywareRemover <<< rouge products list, see link.
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

C:\Program Files\InterMute\SpySubtract\ <<< do you own SpySubract? It may block changes we must make, turn it off until you finish.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Click Start > Control Panel > Security Center and post for me what you see there.

Restart the computer and post the information I requested, the uninstall list and a new HJT log.

Once that is posted, then I believe it would be very good for you to run a diagnostic on your computer. You can do that free here:
http://www.pcpitstop.com/ here is a tutorial if it helps: http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress/howto1.asp
When the test has been run you will have an option to share the information, post a link to that information here in this topic for me to view. I may be able to advise you better once I see that information.

Thanks

Thanks for the prompt:bigthumb: I did not get notified when you posted the first time and I apologize for the forum software. You may also click my name above my avatar and send me a PM in an case like that.

First the Security Center, all three items should always be green, if your Virus Protection is showing off, then you must find out why. Start by opening the Security Center and click the drop down menu to the right of the word ON to see what information it provides. It is possible that malware has changed something and you might have to reinstall the software. I would discuss this with Sysmantec:
http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/support/index.jsp if you can't get it working. Start by opening the program, making sure it is updated, activated and running. Run a complete system scan to make sure all is working as it should be. Does the icon in the system tran indicate that it is working right. If you have issues with any of that, you should contact Symantec for instructions. You must have a properly functing antivirus program.
Keep in mind that if something stops working in the Security Center you should be receiving a popup from Windows telling you that it is happening.

Your HJT log looks fine, this item: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_01\bin\jusched.exe
Is the Java scheduler which is supposed to update the program. Keep an eye on it, if it is not working (we find it is buggy) and you have to update manually anyway, ypu may as well turn it off to save the resources it uses.

Uninstall list: as far as I can see there are no security issues or malware programs running. Take a look youself, make sure nothing is there you do not know and consider uninstalling anything you no longer use.

Have you run the diagnostic at PCPitStop and looked at the other questions I asked about maintenance. Here are some links that will help:

http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/slowcomputer.html

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
