Video Card Problems related to viruses

Ok here's the deal. WHen I reboot my computer, my video card stops working. According to the device manager, i get a "this device failed to start code 10". I have a temporary solution that if I reinstall the driver from nvidia that it makes the video card work (i think) and i am able to change the resolution using the nvidia control panel. When I go to display properties however, there are no tabs and only the themes are visible. As for the display thing, I've done all the registry edits that are floating around the web and nothing seems to work and I'm assuming these 2 problems are related. Below is my hardware information.

Intel E6600 Processer
2gb (2x1gb) 800mhz Silicon DDR2 Ram
Gigabyte Nvidia 7600GT PCI-E
Samsung 500gb SataII Harddrive
D-Link Wired networking card
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
BenQ 16x DVDRW PATA

Welcome to the forum, first let me say I really doubt this has anything to do with malware. When Windows gives you error messages, you need to search Google for them "word for word"
"this device failed to start code 10" results in this Google:

The first one on the list is this one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123
The Code 10 error is right there in the list.
