Is This Malware?

In my temp folder there is a file named:

Perflib_Perfdata_21c.dat

I can't delete it. I've been deleting everything in temp, %temp% and Prefetch on Symantec's advice.

Is this malware? Harmful? It's got a Windows Media Player Icon.

Sorry if this is newbie-dumb.

Where did they give you that advice, in their forums?
