Vundo/Adware-Virtumundo Removal

My system was recnetly infected with the Vundo trojan. I downloaded the VundoFix.exe program and scanned my PC with it, however, after a 13 hour running time, the scan had not yet been completed (and there were only two detections). Am I going the right way about removing the virus and if not, what should I do (btw I know very little about computers in general so the simpler the explanation the better). Any assistance iwould be much appreciated.
