Computer very slow sometimes popup windows - Help

I have read the sticky posts and tried many things without success -- really need your help!! REALLY appreciate your time! (my HJT log is pasted at the end of this post)

Sympotoms:
1. I have noticed that my computer is running very slow from time to time with popup windows from almost every site mentioned here. I have tried many anti-spyware software with no success.

2. I tried to retart with the "safe mode" but won't be able to log in (does not recognize my login ID). I can only restart with "safe mode with networking" but there were some display problems (can't change the screen resolution; stuck with huge fonts, etc.)

3. I am running Windows XP Tablet version, and I always use Firefox.

You almost certainly have a Vundo infection which can be tough to remove, and now you know the very probable reason for the infection. Let's have a look to see what is there.
C:\Documents and Settings\dl79\My Documents\My Downloads\purchased software keep\HijackThis.exe <<< return to here and point the mouse and right clccick then choose rename, call it toshibatablet.exe or whatever you wish, then restart the computer and post a new HJT log, we should be able to see the infection.

I would prefer you move HJT to here is you can: C:\HJT\toshibatablet.exe The program need to store backups for safety and that is a much safer location for it.

Followed your instructions and here are the detailed steps I took (but stuck):
1. Removed Java 2 SEV1.4.2-o3 via Add/Remove software
2. Shut down the computer; (waited for 1 min).
3. Reboot regularly (and it was slow as before; took 15 min)
4. Install the new Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1
5. Renamed HJT to "toshibatablet.exe" and to the C:\HJT\ location
6. Performed the first online scan with CA; it took only 1 second (so I suspected that it did not work) saying no viruses were found. When I point my cursor to the "start scan" button, the bottom-bar shows "javascript: void(0)".
7. Performed the second online scan with Trendmicro; this is where I am stuck. It says it needs 6 3/4 hours; and it does not seem to counting down fast. (At the same time, I kept having popup windows).

So question: shall I wait the whole day for online scanning to finish or shall I abort it and continue the HJT?

So you should not even be doing an antivirus scan. Complete the other instructions and post the new HJT log so we can get a look at the infection.

1. rebooted computer in safe mode (only in "safe mode with networking" though as safe mode alone could not login)
2. Did Spybot s&d and fixed everything in red

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"
Here are the files in your log, there will be more hidden:

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislogin a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Thank you so much! Very helpful, I see hope....
Here are what I have done following your instructions:
1. did vundofix; restarted twice following online instruction
2. when I clicked the "Remove Vundo" button, my Spyware Doctor (I purchased 3 days ago) pop up saying "malicious action intercepted, C:\Symbol commander\sensiva.exe". I did not take any action as at the same time Vundofix prompted me to restart the computer.
4. After last removing "wvutrrp.dll" and restarting the computer, an error message came up in a window "Rundll" saying c:\windows\system32\agfcwbd.dll The specified module could not found". Ignored it (closed the message window)
5. Run HJT.

Looks good so far, good job:bigthumb: To help us both since we have more to do, I am going to suggest that you edit out of your HJT log all of those 012IE plugins. They are valid but I do not need to see them. That will allow you to post the HJT log in one post I believe.

Please follow the directions carefully and in the numbered order.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

4) Please turn off Spyware Doctor also: From within Spyware Doctor, click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\bewmnwnc.dll <<< delete that file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\agfcwbdi.dll <<< delete that file

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log and let me know how the computer is running.

***those 015 items in your Trusted Zone are very bad and may be hard to remove. If they are gone in the next log, good, if they are still there, then do this:
Right click here >>> http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf
and select Save As to download WinHelp2002's DelDomains.inf.
Please save the file somewhere you can find it like on the desktop.
To run the inf file, right click on it and select Install.

Then restart and they should be gone. Post the new HJT log and remember to edit out the 012 items.

Thank you so much! My computer is much better compared with earlier. I followed and checked off every step in your instruction.
1. When I tried to delete bewmnwnc.dll, I got "cannot delete bewmnwnc, Access is Denied". I was not able locate the other file "agfcwbdi.dll".
2. I proceeded anyhow with ATF Clearner.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Run the HJT (and edited out 012 items). I did not see 015 anymore. Nor did I the two "04 .dll" files (bewmnwnc.dll and agfcwbdi.dll). I posted the HJT below.
5. Then I went back to the Explore, but found "bewmnwnc.dll" but still no agfcwbdi.dll. --- then I made an educated guess, and hope this is OK -- I deleted bewmnwnc.dll and this time it was allowed. (I did not clean the Norton Recycler yet). Here is the HJT done before step 5:

Thanks for posting your information and the feedback. I will suggest if you have a file you know is bad that you can not delete, you can start your computer in safe mode when the item will not be running and remove it there. That appears to be a moot point, though you have a computer loaded up with stuff, I can see no malware and it appears we were successful in removing it. Let's do this now:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I want to say that we know only to run one antivirus program and one firewall at a time, but the jury is still out on how many spyware programs running in realtime are to many. You are running both Windows Defender and Spyware Doctor. I suggest you discuss it with Microsoft and/or technical support at Spyware Doctor to find out if there is a problem or conflicts having them both running at the same time.

If you have no malware issues, I would say you are good to go.
