PLEASE HELP lots of problems here smitfraud, winantispyware2006

The computer in my office is having a lot of problems, I really hope that someone here can help me. First I found that the antivirus program expired back August. I installed a new one (Norton), I also installed Spybot, AdAware, Windows Defender, CCleaner, and now HiJackThis. Between the first three combined they found over 500 items. They each then said that the computer was clean or no viruses found or something similar. I restricted access to the internet by setting the Content Advisor password in IE. And the next day when I came back in and ran the spyware programs again they found new stuff even though the office was closed and noone was here to have gone online. One that I see repeatedly is smitfraud toolbar888 or something like that. And the other one I keep seeing is WinAntiSpyware2007, which also seems to take over IE and open new pages trying to lead me to their site to buy that garbage program. As I'm sure you can tell I'm not all that computer savvy, but I'm very good at following directions which has led me this far.

I read the "Before you post" section, I ran the online virus scan tool as directed which said "Virus scan finished. No viruses found.
Scan Results: Scan Completed. 65179 files scanned. No viruses found.

C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< very out of date, start by downloading the newest version of Java and uninstalling all old versions in Add Remove Programs.

You had or still have at least a Vundo infection, the Java program is likely the reason. I strongly suggest you keep the computer offline as much as possible until we get it clean.
In order to see if any Vundo is still hiding, please return here: C:\HiJackThis\HijackThis.exe <<< and rename HJT.exe. Call it pepelepeuu.exe or what ever you like.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS~1\Front\LOCALSETTINGS~1\Temp\ <<< delete the contents of that folder (not the folder)

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

7) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Restart the computer and post the uninstall list and a new HJT log.

Ok I did all the things you instructed me to do, but there were some issues.

1) I couldn't find the file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfwyonst.dll " I even ran a search but it came back no items found.

2)Under step 5 you said "C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS~1\Front\LOCALSETTINGS~1\Temp\ <<< delete the contents of that folder (not the folder)" I tried to do that but 3 files would not delete even after I went through and made sure that all programs were shutdown except the virus scanner and the security center.
The files:
DF898B and JETABFA both brought up the error message
"Error deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete~DF898B (And the same message with JETABFA) it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be suing the fils and try again. OK "

And the other one said
"Error deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete khwcjcqm: Access is denied
Make sure disk is not full or write protected
and that the file is not currently in use. OK"

and as a side note I just tried to go back to that folder to confirm that I wrote those file names correctly and they are not even in the folder anymore, there are a bunch of other files there instead. So I don't have a clue whats up.

Also when I restart the computer I get the error message.
"RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfwyonst.dll
The specified module could not be found."

Thanks also for your feedback and doing your best with the instructions. Remember the junk comes off a lot harder than it got on and there is no exact way to remove it. The messages you are receiving, and it is important that you post error messages "word for word" is the junk complaining as we try to remove it, let's see how we did.

Uninstall list: I am looking for security issues and malware, it is a great opportunity for you to look for stuff you no longer use.

Viewpoint Media Player <<< do you use this? Here is some info about aol and Viewpoint, your call.

This one item is causing your issues, it is left from the Vundo infection. HJT is a Process Manager and when you remove the line with HJT it ends the process, but you must go right to the file and delete it. If you restart the computer first, then the item is running and Windows, which does not know if the file is bad or good, knows only that it is being used and you get that message.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PrintDrive] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfwyonst.dll",setvm

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfwyonst.dll <<< delete that file

Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Navigate to the file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sfwyonst.dll and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.

Post a new HJT log, let me know about any malware issues at that point.

Ok Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. But here is what happened. I followed the instructions in the previous post and went to add/remove programs and deleted the media player add on you told me about. I also removed AOL as I have never and do not ever intend to use that program. I did the HJT scan and checked the box for the file "O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PrintDrive] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfwyonst.dll",setvm " and I clicked "Fix Checked" after closing all other programs. When I went to the c drive to delete the file "sfwyon.dll" I could not find it to delete it (not even by following the directions for the Delete on Reboot Tool), it just wasn't there.

As far as other problems, just that the system has been running a lot slower than usual. I have been having the girls in the office here run AdAware and Spybot S&D every day before using the system (it seems to help, but it could all be in our heads, I really don't know).

I suggest you uninstall it in Add Remove Programs

I see no "malware" in the balance of the HJT log.

Please follow these instructions:
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

I did what you just said as far as the turning off system restore, rebooting, and turning it back on. And I removed the Flashtalk program.

I was just called in to the office here because when the computer is turned on it brought up an error. It said
