My problem started about a week a go i scanned with spybot S&D and seen i had Cmdservices in my registry and also Smitfraud. I am sure my son did this to my computer, but anyways I have no clue how to get rid of these things. I need big time help as i am having pop-ups every couple minute and I can't do anything on the net because of it! Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to Safer Networking, if you still need help and are not receiving it elsewhere, it appears you have missed some important instructions our administrator has posted at the top of the forum, especially this: "BEFORE you POST" Mandatory Steps Before Requesting Assistance http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk. Please read and follow all instructions and post all required logs or reports, anything less will slow your process.
Use "Post Reply" to post the information in the instructions and stay in the same topic.

I would like to try to help, but it is apparant you have not read the above directions. Your HJT log is formatted in "word wrap" and I can not work with it. I do not need the online scan just now but I need you to read and follow all of the rest of the directions.

You have a very bad infection, read about it here: C:\WINDOWS\retadpu.exe
http://spywarefiles.prevx.com/RRCJEF039587725/RETADPU2000340.EXE.html
Be sure to read it all but especially under #3.

You also have a vundo infection, here is some information about that junk:
http://www.networkworld.com/news/2007/030807-mystery-around-winfixer-slowly-unravels.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUZHiKhsog
http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/search.aspx?q=winfixer+msn
http://www.revenews.com/wayneporter/archives/adware-spyware-greynets/getting_the_fix_on_winfixer_aol_network_now/

You need to keep this computer offline except when you are working on the problem until we get it clean. This will not be easy, if you want to do this, then start like this.

1) C:\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe <<< return here and rename HJT, call it Knyla.exe or whatever you wish.

2) Read all directions I posted above and follow them all except for the online scan, I will let you know if I need it.

3) Open Notepad and click Format at the top. Uncheck "word wrap" and leave it unchecked until we are finished.

4) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Restart the computer and post the uninstall list and a new (unformatted) HJT log.

Thanks

Knyla

I still believe you have word wrap turned on in notepad, did you view these instructions: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Note: In notepad under Format, uncheck "Word Wrap" Produce all HJT logs like this, single spaced.Look at logs others have posted and you can see the difference.

You do have a Vundo infection and the other trojan I showed you earlier. You should keep this computer offline unless you are working on the issues until we get it clean.
It is very important that you read and follow the directions carefully.

Your Java program is very badly outdated and probably the reason you are infected, see this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2 <<< download the newest version and uninstall that old version in Add Remove programs.

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislogin a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

If there is a file VundoFix doesn't find we need it submitted. Please submit
the files to upload malware http://www.uploadmalware.com

Thanks

Knyla

Well, it looks like you killed the infection but I can't tell until you give me a HijackThis log that is NOT formatted:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Note: In notepad under Format, uncheck "Word Wrap" Produce all HJT logs like this, single spaced.
single-spaced - (of type or print) not having a blank space between lines.

It is preferable, and the log easier to read, if you do not use the [code] or [php] options.

We do have additional infections to deal with, I can not work with the logs the way you are posting them. Look at the logs others are posting.

Thanks

Each log I have posted after the first has been without word wrap checked, I created a new log with word wrap checked then unchecked to see what exactly changed and I noticed the words arent wrapping around anymore. This should be the correct log with word wrap "OFF".

I think its still wrapping around, There is one line that changes when i turn word wrap off but once i post it on these forums it seems to wrap around.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [runner1] C:\WINDOWS\retadpu2000219.exe 61A847B5BBF72810329B385473F001F0B3E35B6638993F4661AA4EBD86D67C56389B284534F310F3D1DC7E4638E8323A15806F97BDE4417E77DB6C0736AC53FD97CB770221C46402788A1B8FA5FA5C664DFC5B3A30AC55B296C36710329B385473F00FB68AD6

This is the only line that seems to wrap around even when word wrap is off.

Yes it is and that is the item that is causing your issues, let's see what we can do to get rid of it:
Please follow these instructions carefully:

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\retadpu2000219.exe <<< delete this file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\siijgahw.dll <<< delete this file

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and make a new HJT log. Look in the log for the items 015 - Trusted Zone. They are very bad and hard to remove. If they are gone, post the log, if they are still there, then do this:

Right click >>> http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf and select Save As to download WinHelp2002's DelDomains.inf.
Please save the file somewhere you can find it like on the Desktop.
To run the inf file, right click on it and select Install.

That will clean the Trusted Zone for you, then restart and make a new HJT log and post it. Tell me how the computer is running.

Thanks

Good, job, looks good. This item needs to go:
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust...ch/search.html
Looks good but believe me it is adware junk. Yahoo is in bed with the enemy! Use HJT to remove it. You may rename HJT if you wish, let's clean the System restore files like this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

First let me ask if your Version of Spybot is up to date? If not, update it and run it again. If you still have the problem proceed with these instructions.

Thanks to LonnyRJones and anyone else who helped with this tool

Please download and unzip Ren-cmdservice to your Desktop fro this link:
It will only work correctly if the folder is placed on your Desktop and extracted !!.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/ren-cmdservice.zip

Open the ren-cmdservice folder by doubleclicking it and then doubleclick the
ren-cmdservice.bat file to run the program.
A text will open when it is finished, Post it please.
Then restart the PC run spybot check for and fix any problems found.

Thanks
