I.E. Wont Connect Mozilla Does

Went through the steps in the sticky and I think I'm ready for this part. My system will not connect to the internet via I.E.7. I ran a trend micro virus scan and it found nothing. I wanted to use some of the online scanners but they all use activex and I'm on Mozilla. Downloaded kapersky but it wants me to uninstall trend micro first. Therefore I am not including any anti virus scan logs. Hopefully this will be sufficient to get us started. BTW, ran Spybot and removed everything it found but it cannot remove smithfraud.c and in HJT I checked the rpcc.dll entry that S&D referred to restarted and it comes back.

For your safety and security I need to provide you with this information:
A Backdoor is a software program that gives an attacker unauthorized access to a machine and the means for remotely controlling the machine without the user's knowledge. Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. I also need to make you aware that you are running MSConfig (System Configuration Utility) in Selective Startup mode so I don't even know if I am seeing all of the infection.

S***! That is not something I wanted to hear. That system does our company payrolls, banking, cc processing and has admin rights to our server! I kept a spotless network going for three years. At the request of our our investor and against my better judgement we had an It "Professional" come in and change everything. He loosened restrictions I had in place, changed minimum password requirements, switched me from kapersky to trend micro(which can't find crap btw) and God knows what else. Because "now we are on a Cisco router blah, blah, blah" I dont personally have security training but I knew enough to Install Windows 2003 server (main server) which comes pretty locked down, maintain updates, watch the logs and restrict the hell out of your users. Within the last couple of weeks I bought the investor out and severed the business relationship with Mr IT which is why I'm going through the network in search of problems. I'm so pissed right now but I have to move on and see to what extent if any the network is comprimised. -Rant over.
I plan on reinstalling everything on this system. However, its the other systems I'm concerned with now. Some questions....

What would be your next steps in determining the state of your network?
I have 5 other xp workstations and the server, Should I post HJT logs on those as well? If so, as seperate threads or in this one? Is there a forum you would suggest that deals with general network security Issues? Finaly, can you suggest any comprehensive cbt or crash course type of material or sites that deal with network deployment/maintenance/security?
