Can anyone help me??

I have picked something up and continue to get annoying IE windows popping up - I think it may be related to SmitFraud, as Spybot found that. I have run everything I could find (SmitFraud fix, VundoFix, Ad-Aware, Spybot, AVG), but nothing seems to make the new windows stop.


1) Ran eTrust Antivirus Scanner - it said there were no infections
2) Ran Spybot in Safe Mode - it said it removed SmitFraud

All advice given is taken at your own risk.

I see markers in your log that indicate this is probably a Vundo infection, I see you said you ran Vundofix, but if it is not run correctly, the infection morphs and returns. On top of that, the hackers, who should be in jail, have learned how to hide it from HJT. If you still need help, this is what I need you to do.

1) Read this please: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< your Java program is VERY out of date and likely the reason you are infected. Download the newest version of Java and then uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.

2) C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe <<< return here and rename HJT.exe, call it HokieMom.exe or whatever. The next HJT log should show us the infection if it is there.

3) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Restart the computer and post the uninstall list and a new HJT log.
