Hi all knowing ones, can you please help another user inflicted by this smitfreud tool 8888 thing?

I have read a few of the other posts and as a result have downloaded vundo fix and done that as suggested in the other posts. I have then done a hijackthis check and have got the following log: (I hope I've done this right)

Can anyone please help. It is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have now read the advice in "before you post" and have done as asked and below is the new Hijack this with the proper version. :red:

Also, I did an online check and got 2 hits for .dll files that were picked up by Vundo fix when I ran it earlier. Whilst trying to figure out how to save the page to add it to this post I lost it. :red:

Anyway here is the correct info.

G'Day and welcome to Safer Networking, just to be sure you viewed this information:
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.

I can't really assess how Vundofix performed without seeing the Vundofix report, you would know if the popups have stopped.
I can say it looks like it killed the nasty part of the infection. We have one more related file that must be removed, for your benefit, it looks like this in the HJT log.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [setup] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\qcryhjci.dll",realset

Let's do a little cleaning, remove that item and some other nasty junk and see how you are running.

How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {DE0BDE09-E67C-4A41-97B8-CB9E1A1E8B1C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljgf.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [setup] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\qcryhjci.dll",realset
O16 - DPF: {DECEAAA2-370A-49BB-9362-68C3A58DDC62} (SAIX) - http://static.zangocash.com/cab/Seek...43fc78836d4b32
http://www.castlecops.com/atxlist-1613.html <<< see this

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\qcryhjci.dll <<< delete that file

(if you have any problem deleting that file, use this tool)
How to use the Delete on Reboot tool http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html#delreb

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and create a new HJT log and make sure that junk is gone, then post the log for a last look.

Cheers...Phil

G'Day Darren, you are certainly welcome and thanks for returning your information and the feedback. The HJT log looks clean of malware, we should do this now. System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

If you want to run a good free trial to check for hidden junk, use this one with these instruction, delete or quarantine anything it finds and post the scan results if you have questions.
