I would also like to know if this is related of my cpmputer crashing when I play The Sims 2 and Tales of Pirates online. I suspect this problem is caused by my video card. It has 64mb ram and is 4 yrs. old.

hi Nates,

Looks ok now.

ok good.

pc games usually have minimum requirements needed to play them listed on the packaging somewhere. a 4 year old graphics card might struggle to play newer games. so might a older cpu.

if all is good i leave you with this:

Yeah maybe you're right. I'll stick first to browser games like Runescape before I upgrade my computer. I still wonder how I got that trojan bantool. What site or download did I get that from?

hi Nates,

What site or download did I get that from

hard to say. it can ride in with all kinds of malware. its a generic malware tool i think its a visual basic script that can be modified as needed. deluxe comm. delivered ads to your computer.

one last thing to do is to make new restore points. why? because sometimes malware can get archived in them. easy to do:

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(winXP)

1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot

one way to help prevent malware is to learn how it can get on your computer, read the prevention tips at link below, not a lot of reading, lots of pictures. happy safe surfing.
