Hi there,

Last week I renewed my version of Norton Security (I decided to download it) ironically ever since then I have had al sorts of trouble with annoying pop-ups and generally a computor that I have lost trust in. Due to my job I use the computor to do alot of shopping etc on and I just feel really worried to do any tranactions at the moment. Please could someone help me. I was advised by staff at PC World to download Adaware and then Spybot and that should fix the problem, only it hasn't. I've run many scans and this Smitfraud always appears to be present. If possible then I would really appreciate some help to get my system back to the way it was.

(I've just done a scan of the system prior to posting you this message - but I've done many scans before and Smitfraud always is there whenever I run another scan)

Looks like you were successful with Vundofix, let's do a little cleaning to be sure nothing is hiding:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {DFCAA3EB-DCAC-43F9-A8C0-D124F94066AC} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkklk.dll (file missing)
O4 - Startup: LimeWire On Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Follow the instructions in this link to run AVG Anti-=Spyware, be fure to delete or quarantine what it finds and post the scan report.

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post the scan report and a new HJT log.
