Hello,

here is my problem: after updating Spybot a few minutes ago the program causes a bluescreen at about halfway through the scan. Reboot - ran Spybot again - same result!? Any ideas or anybody out there who made the same experience after updating Spybot?

Thanks and greetings!

Hello,

Do you have installed a file encryption program called Folder Lock?

See this earlier thread where issues between Spybot - Search & Destroy and Folder Lock were found, along with many other conflicts between Folder Lock and other programs.
Spybot 1.4 crashes in conflict with Folder Lock:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=807
Blue Screen of Death:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=5256

With this much evidence that Folder Lock can cause BSoD errors and the relationship to your file system, I'd personally return any files to unencrypted and then remove Folder Lock permanently.

Further please have a look at this link:

Hi,

thanks for your reply, but I don't have Folder Lock installed on my system - and before the Spybot update I never had any problems (have been using Spybot for a few years now). Maybe the problem will be gone with the next update. I will also try a reinstallation of Spybot later - hope that will help.

Thanks and best regards
