Hello I'm going mad here trying to clear some malware off my PC and I found this forum when looking for clues.

I've done a HJT scan using version 1.99 and I can see that there's 2 BHOs which are not good to have, PMKHE.DLL and BYXXWVV.DLL, they also appear in section 20 of the HJT file. I've tried to clear these by doing a fix in HJT but they still persist, I can nothing with them. I've tried to do a delete on reboot and they still persist.

I've had a tinker in the registry to attempt to deny permissions to the BHO and Shell Execute Hooks keys and they moment I change permissions it resets them. In fact looking in the security log file it's continually making permission changes. I've tried to kill the processes with "Security Task Manager" from Neuber but I can't get the processes to stop so I seem to be locked in a continual loop which I can't break out of:sad:.

My machine uses a SATA hard disk which needs drivers loaded and I'm not sure that you could DOS drivers to be able to boot and get to the disk outside of WindowsXP.

Any recommendations that anyone could give me?
My scan file is attached.

Thanks,
Roger

Hello RogerJ and welcome to the Forums :)

You're infected.

At first you need to disable a few realtime protections. These may interfere with our cleaning process.
We'll enable these when you're clean...

Disable SpywareDoctor's realtime protection.
Open Spyware Doctor
Click the "OnGuard" button on the left side.
Uncheck "Activate OnGuard".
Exit the program.

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Thank you for your reply Mr_Jak3, it's a pleasure to meet you.

I have done as you have said and although VundoFix seemed to find several files on the first pass and successfully got rid of them I had 2 DLL files and one INI file which still seem to contain the Vundo code.

As you advised VundoFix was unable to delete the file and did reboot the PC and come up and attempt to delete the files. Although it cleared the files from the window when I clicked on "Remove files" the second time around when I checked the files were still there and running VundoFix again found the 3 files which it just can't manage to delete.

I did run VundoFix 3 or 4 times so my VundoFix.txt file is rather longer than you would expect.

Hi again :)

Before we'll continue I would like you to do something for me...
I need you too upload few malware files for further inspection.

Make your hidden files visible:
Go to My Computer
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
Click the View tab.
Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.
Please go here (http://www.uploadmalware.com/) to upload a suspicious file for analysis.
Enter your username from this forum
Copy and paste the link to this thread
Click "Browse" on the 1. field.
Browse to the following file and click the file with your mouse, press "Open"
C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxxwvv.dll
Click "Browse" on the 2. field.
Browse to the following file and click the file with your mouse, press "Open"
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkhe.dll

In the comments, please mention that I asked you to upload this file
Click on Send File
Please let me know when you have done this and then we'll get you cleaned :bigthumb:
